Rover is my full time job at the moment. I also volunteer a few days a week, a few hours at a time, with a local organization called Joys Kitchen. My schedule is open and generally flexible - leaving me plenty of time to be present with your pet and attend to their needs!

Safety, trust & environment
Trust is earned with your pet by almost always having someone around. It’s not constant attention, but a constant presence, love, treats, and acceptance. No punishment for “bad/anxiety” behavior or barking. A soothing confirmation that they are indeed good protectors. When it comes to caring for pets in your home - I take extreme care: following directions as instructed, entering and leaving respectfully, practicing a “leave no trace” energy except for happy pets. I believe in leaving spaces cleaner/better than I found them if possible. Happy to provide photos and kind respectful communication while you are away. The same offerings extend to plant care.
Information Rachel Y. would like to know about your pet
Let me know about your current training methods, their special quirks, the best way to entertain them, and special diets! I love active breeds but also great with couch potatoes who prefer belly rubs. I can work with all personalities.
A typical day
Exercise, tug of war, and music are my favorite ways to hang with your pet! Morning yoga and runs make for great afternoon nap buddies. Belly scratches and couch cuddles are common in this house. I sometimes lean into a “second walk” in the morning, depending of your dogs needs. It’s like second breakfast (which they might get that too!) For sweet kitty cats, feathers and strings are my go to. I know not all cats are interactive, but happy to administer as many butt pats and chin scratches as they would like.

Pet and Home Care from the Heart
Pet care experience
Veterinarian’s daughter and forever pet lover. I would love to lend a helping hand! Great for long term sittings & farm stays! I grew up with a zoo of cats and dogs, love having them around at all times. I am experienced with many types of animals including cats, dogs, bearded dragons, farm animals (horses goats chickens), and 4 years of Rover experience! Avid runner, I want to take your dog for a morning run if they’re up for it!!! Great with medications and special diets, specific feeding times or training tactics you are trying to implement. I firmly believe to adhering to your training and behavioral practices so that your pet can stay as consistent and comfortable as possible!

Reviews

Rachel adores my dogs. My dogs adore her. We feel lucky to have found her. Thanks Rachel!
Rachel has been walking my anxious dog, Frannie, for a couple of months now and she is creative, reliable, punctual, and helpful. Most of all, Frannie looks forward to these outings and is always excited to see Rachel. Recently, Rachel cared for both Frannie and our house while we were on vacation. We got many fun pictures of Frannie's daily activities and we came home to a happy, fat and sassy dog, and a pristine house. Rachel is the best!

Rachel has been a huge help with my dog while I work long shifts. She communicates well, follows the care instructions, and send me cute pics. I’d definitely recommend her!

Rachel is great! She walks my dog a few times a week and my dog is always excited to see her and sad to see her leave 😊 Rachel sent many pictures throughout her stay and my dog seemed really happy the whole time. She took great care of my place and I would have her back anytime!
