Reliable sitter who adores animals
I've taken care of pets my entire life. i am the dog person in my family. I currently live with 4 dogs - all Shelties! - and my cat, Amaia. I take care of my mom's and brother's dogs while they are at work and spend all day with them and have pet sit for all of my family members in the past. I have a ton of experience with herding breeds (Shelties and Aussies in particular) and am very familiar with their unique behaviors and instincts. I recently lost my almost 17-year old dog, Bella, who was my soul dog. Caring for Bella throughout her senior years and at the end of her life was a special joy I'll never forget and would do over and over again. I know how scary it can be to leave your senior pup or kitty while you're away, but I have a special spot for senior pups and promise to take great care of them. I have experience giving medicine to both dogs and cats - Bella required several pills and eye drops every day - and experience with dogs who are blind, deaf, and/or have dementia.

My biggest desire while you are away is to follow your dog's normal routine, whether that is crate training while they are alone, feeding and walk schedules, or potty schedules. My dogs love their routines and I know how important it can be to maintain them, especially while their people are away.

Rachel is always very flexible and has great communication! I always feel safe having her jn my home and leaving my senior dog with her.
Rachel has watched my dog twice now, left the house in good condition, sent pictures and had great communication!
Rachel was great! She gave us regular updates and was super attentive with our pups.

Schedule
I am a teacher in the Denver Public School system, so I work from 8-4 every day during the school year. I have weekends off and, of course, am off during the summer time!

- Please let me know ahead of time if there is anything special I can or need to do to make your dog feel more comfortable, whether that is avoiding new areas because your dog can't see well or needs medications administered. I will do whatever it takes to make sure your fur baby is well taken care of and comfortable.
