In addition to cat sitting, I work part-time for Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust as a Medical Recruitment Administrator (usually during school hours 9.00am to 2.30pm so cat sitting visits will typically be outside of these hours) and am Enhanced DBS checked as of January 2024 through my volunteer work with a local school. In addition to the Cat in a Flat/Rover guarantee, I also have my own pet sitting insurance in place via Protectivity/AXA. From time to time, I also volunteer with Bow Lodge Cat Rescue (covering Kent and Thurrock). I hold a full driving licence and own a car so am able to travel if needed, usually covering the likes of Longfield, Hartley, New Barn, New Ash Green, Horton Kirby, South Darenth, Darenth, Dartford, Bean, Greenhithe, Southfleet, Meopham, Sole Street and other local surrounding areas in Kent.

Safety, trust & environment
Your cats stay in their own home with their own familiar surroundings for all visits - also giving you additional peace of mind that someone is visiting and keeping an eye on the house at the same time. I do not board cats as this requires a local authority boarding license.
Information Rachel W. would like to know about your pet
If your cat has any special requirements or medication needs, please do let me know so that I can ensure they continue to receive this whilst you are away.
A typical day
1 Daily Visit: This can usually be scheduled to coincide with your kitty’s usual feed times or just to give them a good fuss when you’re not around. I’ll usually spend at 20-40 minutes with the kitty clients at each visit, making sure they have everything they need from brushing to treats. I’ll change litter trays if it’s needed and clean up any unwanted gifts left by your kitty. I will always take and share at least one photo of your fur baby with you whilst I am there too so that you can rest assured that they’re being well looked after. I am also happy to administer any medication that your pet needs during a visit too. 2 Daily Visits: All of the above x 2 - usually one visit in the morning (typically between 5-10am) and another in the afternoon or evening (typically between 2.30pm to 9pm) depending on your preference. Happy to discuss other cat sitting options to suit your needs too. Overnights/House Sitting is not currently a service which I offer.

Cat care experience
🐾 Fully insured via Protectivity/AXA 🐾 Enhanced DBS Checked 🐾 Full Driving Licence 🐾 20+ years of cat care experience 🐾 Covering Longfield & surrounding areas 🐾 ABOUT ME 🐾 My name is Rachel - a HR professional, mother of 2 and self confessed crazy cat lady. I’ve lived with and cared for cats my entire life, with 5 fur babies of my own at home; 🐾 Babs - a beautiful 2.5 year old long haired tortoiseshell with attitude who came from a local rescue; 🐾 Cali - a fluffy black and white girl who is just over 2 years old, very sweet with a dash of sass; 🐾 Luna - a 13 year old rescued mottled tortie with a delicate stomach and grain allergy, who adores snuggling up with a blanket; 🐾 Millie - a gorgeous 15 year old teeny black and white moggie who is extremely cuddly, vocal and needy; and last but not least; 🐾 Rocky - a huge playful 7 year old rescued tabby Norwegian forest cat who loves a fuss but does not like his belly being touched, and who brings the type of gifts for his human family that only a cat can. I joined Cat in a Flat/Rover in December 2023, after regularly helping out friends and family over the years and with the view of supporting other local pet owners when they go on holiday or want someone to pop in when they’re at work and need someone to take care of their kitty cats. If you’re looking for a reliable, friendly and polite cat sitter, then look no further. If you’re not sure whether or not you’re in my usual catchment area, please feel free to drop me a message. I am often happy to travel a little further afield, though please note that journeys over 5 miles away from me will incur an additional mileage fee and this will be discussed with you prior to any booking confirmation. If you have any questions or would like more information, then please drop me a message and I will come back to you as soon as possible! 🐾 ABOUT MY CAT SITTING SERVICES 🐾 Free Meet & Greet: This can be in person or via video call to discuss your kitty clients habits and requirements and gives the opportunity for you to get to know me before you make any commitment and start using my cat sitting services. Very happy to answer any questions and understand that it’s a big decision trusting someone to come to your home and with your fur babies! 1 Daily Visit: This can be scheduled to coincide with your kitty’s usual feed times or just to give them a good fuss when you’re not around. I’ll usually spend 20-40 minutes with the kitty clients at each visit, making sure they have everything they need from brushing to treats. I’ll change litter trays if it’s needed and clean up any unwanted gifts left by your kitty. I will always take and share at least one photo of your fur baby with you whilst I am there too so that you can rest assured that they’re being well looked after. Happy to discuss other cat sitting options to suit your needs too. Overnights/House sitting is not currently a service I am able to offer. Cats are my favourite, but from time to time I do look after other small pets too, usually when there is a cat present! To date, I have also cared for chickens, cockatiels, hamsters, gerbils, tortoises, tropical fish and bearded dragons. 🐾 PRICING 🐾 First Meet & Greet - Free Single Visit - £12 Double Visits - £20 No additional charges for additional cats in the household. These rates apply for all bookings up to 5 miles from DA3 7QP, and an additional £1 per mile will be added per visit for bookings over 5 miles away. Please note that Rover/Cat in a Flat automatically applies a 15% booking fee to the above rates. Following the initial enquiry, I can make any adjustments to the pricing for double daily visits. If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch! 🐾
Reviews
Rachel is an amazing cat sitter! We have just returned from a week’s holiday and Rachel was surrogate mum to four of my cats. My cats quickly warmed to her (remembering her from her visits last year) including one particular cat of mine, who would normally hide away. Rachel is consistent, reliable and kept me updated with photos. Highly recommended 😻😻😻😻
My chickens were well cared for. They needed to be checked up in situ as a flock. Rachel kept me updated throughout

Rachel an absolute superstar as per usual! Our third booking for our furbaby and we wouldn’t trust anyone else 🩷🐈⬛
Rachel has looked after our two cats a couple of times now and has always been excellent and taken great care of our cats! Can only recommend her!
