I work remotely from home so it is easy for me to check in on cats in the morning, during lunch or periodically throughout the day.

About Rachel W.
Communication
Safety, trust & environment
I will come to the client's home to feed, play with and check in on the cat and take notes of anything I notice that might need attention. At first, I will try to give the cat as much space as needed in the beginning and establish rapport with them over time. I try to pay attention to wet food and dry food consumption as well as excrement and water clumps in the litter box to check for signs of stress or abnormalities between visits.
Information Rachel W. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your cat has any favorite toys or activities, specific needs, preferences with diet, and if they have any tendencies that I need to be aware of.
A typical day
I pay attention to whether the cats like to play or be brushed and make sure we get to those each session. Pets are definitely a must and so are treats.

I simply love cats!
Cat care experience
I have loved cats all my life and am a cat person through and through. I've been catsitting for friends regularly over the years before getting my own cat (the white long-haired cat in my photos) during the pandemic. Since then, I've been actively catsitting for the past 7 years locally in Seattle. One of my favorite things is being able to connect and build trust with the cats I'm caring for and getting to know their personalities little by little each visit. It's really fun seeing some cats who normally are skittish get comfortable in my lap after a few visits. I have a really gentle and calming demeanor and typically let them lead so that they approach as it feels comfortable for them. I also have experience as a volunteer working at the PAWS cat shelter so I have high attention to detail when it comes to care instructions, special cleaning and interaction needs.
Reviews
Rachel had been consistently reliable and available when we’ve needed her and proactively raised issues to our attention - highly recommended!

Rachel was lovely. She answered promptly and didn't give me the side eye in regards to any of the things that I asked for her to do. The girls seemed very happy with her and I'll be reaching out to her again soon.
Rachel was so great! Our cat warmed up to her immediately and she was communicative with photos and videos. We’ll be asking her again our next trip!
Rachel is an exceptional dog sitter! She made such a wonderful first impression on my husband and I at our first meet and greet- she was friendly and professional, asking thoughtful questions to better understand our pup's routine and lifestyle. Our dog can be quite particular with strangers, but Rachel and Charlie got along just great from the get go! Rachel made us feel so at ease while we were away for a long weekend trip and sent us plenty of photos and updates throughout the day. I would highly recommend Rachel to anyone looking for a responsible pet sitter and piece of mind and assurance that their fur baby will be in great hands!
