I'm currently looking for a full-time job as a paralegal or law clerk since I unfortunately did not pass this last Bar exam. That means my schedule is very flexible. I occasionally pick up shifts at my friend's family's restaurant. For dogs, I'm going to stick to the schedule you enter. For cats, I find owners tend to pick a random time and don't really mind if it changes as necessary. If I don't remember to ask, please let me know if there certain days (usually the days you leave and return) where you want me to adhere strictly to the schedule.

Safety, trust & environment
Cats - I have no problem scooping litter, especially since it would make your cat a lot more comfortable. I don't think cats do well outside their regular environment, so I would expect to care of them in your home. Dogs - I love a good walk! I need to get my steps in. Unless you tell me otherwise, I will refrain from having your dog greet for safety purposes. Until I get to experience taking dogs to the dog park, I will stay away, again, just to be safe. I have a car, so if your animal needs to be taken somewhere to get medical attention, I can do that.
Information Rachel W. would like to know about your pet
I feel like pet parents know what they need to tell me ahead of time. With dogs, I think the most important to know is if they have triggers (like bikes) they could make them panic on a walk. For cats, just let me know if they are okay with being picked up because they can give you the go-ahead about absolutely everything and still hate the scoop.
A typical day
I love long walks! I try to take them to nearby parks if possible so they get to walk on grass and smell all the smells. For cats, I'm here for whatever personality they have. I love to get them jumping and playing with toys if they're interested, but I'm also happy to just sit and pretend they aren't there if that makes them more comfortable.

Pet care experience
I'm very experienced with cats. As an adult, I have 15 years of experience as a cat owner, including one girl who was labeled as "feisty," and "having feral tendencies." All pets deserve love! I have fond memories of going hunting for kittens on my grandparent's farm so that they would get a little bit of human socialization. I also grew up with a family cat named Lucy. I'm newer to dog care. I regularly take care of my 2 friends' dogs---a lab and a basenji-cross---which includes both walks and overnights. I also used to volunteer at the Brandywine Valley SPCA. As a result, I know I'm not yet comfortable walking highly reactive and/or aggressive dogs. I love to watch "It's Me or the Dog," so if you're working on teaching your dog specific tricks/behaviors, please show me how I can help! I'm also really into plants. If you have one or 2 plants you'd like me to care for, I'm happy to check on them as well.
Reviews

Rachel has been an excellent dog walker! She was extremely patient with shy pup, and really put in a lot of work to gain her trust. Rachel has been very communicative and reliable, we would recommend her to anyone!

Thank you for walking Mabel!

Marcel was thrilled to have a visit with Auntie Rachel today! Thanks for being able to rock up on such short notice. You are the best!

Rachel is amazing. Upon our meeting, she was sure to ask all pertinent questions regarding care of my cat. I felt very at ease with her minding things while I was away. My cat took to her immediately and seemed to love when she’d drop by. I can’t recommend Rachel highly enough.
