Pet care experience

Attentive care for your fur baby!

I have a genuine love for animals and hands-on experience caring for anxious pets who miss their parents. I understand the importance of providing consistency, extra comfort, and reassurance to help them feel secure during your time away. I have two cats with medical issues, giving me firsthand experience in administering medication and managing their health. I’ve taken care of several older dogs who need consistent a.m. and p.m. medicine. I’ve also fostered five kittens who did have to be mouth-fed, so I understand how to be gentle and welcoming to even the most nervous pet. I know how to manage pets with different personalities to ensure everyone feels comfortable. I believe in the importance of interactive play and mental stimulation to keep pets happy and engaged. Also, I’m a big outdoors person, so if your dog likes to go on long walks (or jogs), we’re gonna be a great match! Animals seem to sense my affection, and I haven’t met one yet that doesn’t adore me!

Rachel was great! She has house/dogsat for us multiple times and is always wonderful. The dogs are very well cared for and the house always is in great shape! We will definitely book with her again!

Rachel was GREAT! This was my first time using Rover, but it won't be the last time I try to book Rachel. She looked after our dog and house for a 10 day stretch through Christmas and when we came home, Phoebe was happy and the house was clean and tidy. I can't recommend her enough!

Rachel was great! She watched our two dogs over Thanksgiving and left the house cleaner than I think we left it! She was very communicative and took great care of our pups! We will definitely be asking her to sit again!

Rachel did an excellent job taking care of our golden retriever, Dora! We will definitely use her again. Dora was happy and obviously well cared for when we got back from our 16 day trip and our house was neat and clean. She is very responsible and reliable.

Rachel was so helpful and watched our pup at the last minute when we had to travel for a funeral. She was so kind and took good care of our boy.

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I work in office at UAB Monday Wednesday Thursday (MWR) and typically leave work around 4 pm. On Tuesdays and Friday's, I work from home, so my day schedule is significantly more flexible on those days to provide the care that your pets need. I am getting my MBA at UAB, so I do have class Tuesday evenings from 5 to 730. But I will be able to walk/feed your pet before I leave for class. I stay in town on the weekends. I will be in town for the holiday season, as my family lives nearby!

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

I do have two cats in my apartment, so I will not be able to board any pets. However I will be able to provide any care that your pets need while you're gone. Whether its walking, playing, outside time, a certain feeding routine, any medications, other medical conditions that need attention, brushing, or bathing if necessary, cleaning up accidents, litterboxes or pee pads, or just general love and affection, I will ensure that your pets are comfortable and taken care in your absence. I am willing to stay the night with them, I will just need to know at least a day in advance. I do well in cases of medical emergencies, and will follow whatever procedures you provide. I can provide senior pet care, as well! Look forward to meeting your sweet babies!

Pets

A typical day

For cats, I do like to hide treats around the house for them to find while I’m not there. Ofcourse, play with whatever toys are provided, I’ll quickly figure out whether they like to jump to get the toy or stay close to the ground. For dogs, whether it’s throwing a ball inside or outside of the house, playing tug-of-war, or letting them spend good time outside on a leash, I’m accommodating to whatever your baby likes to do!

It’s important for me to know how often your pet is taken out to go potty and feeding times, just their general schedule. Whether or not you would like me to stay in your home, I’m fine either way, but it helps me get an idea of how it will integrate it into my week. if you have a fenced in backyard or if your pet likes to go on walks, or they need walks to go potty. Any medications or health concerns that I should look out for. Also, I do request that you share your vet/emergency vet contacts. You can leave that written on the counter. But it does give me peace of mind that I know what to do in case there is some sort of emergency.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
