Pet care experience

Happy Pets, Happy You!

I’ve had over 16 years of hands-on experience caring for my own dog, a sweet Cocker Spaniel who I miss dearly every day. He taught me so much about patience, consistency, and really understanding what our pets need at every stage of life. I also have one dog now, Peanut—he’s a goofy ball of love and life! He’s full of energy, so I definitely know what it’s like to care for high-energy pups and make sure they get the structure, play, and attention they need. Along with my own pets, I’ve house and dog sat for several families (and can absolutely provide references!). I’ve cared for pets anywhere from a single day or overnight to about 2½ weeks while families were traveling. I’ve worked with both dogs and cats, given medications when needed, and always do my best to stick closely to their normal routines. I know from my own fur babies how important that consistency is—it really helps keep them calm, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. I also treat your home with care by watering plants and keeping things tidy, so you can come back relaxed and stress-free. What really sets me apart is how attentive I am to each pet’s personality. Whether they’re shy, anxious, or full of energy, I meet them where they are and make sure they feel safe and cared for. I follow instructions closely, communicate clearly, and I LOVE sending updates and pictures so you can see how your fur baby is doing while you’re away. At the end of the day, I just genuinely love animals and treat them like they’re my own.

June 2026 To whom it may concern Rachel Turner watched my sweet dog Lola for two and one-half weeks in April of 2026 and I could not be happier with the way she went “beyond the call of duty”. Of course she did the basics of feeding, watering, and walking. However, not only did she send me pictures and videos of Lola playing with Rachels own dog, but she took her to her apartment when Lola was missing me too much. I learned that they went on at least one field trip to a garden grown by elementary school students and that was a real hit with Lola. The comfort level she provided while I spent that much time in Costa Rica was wonderful and freed me up to really enjoy myself while getting some things accomplished as well. Rachel genuinely cares about pets and they know it. I have travelled a significant amount when working and now in retirement, but I have never seen Lola so happy and content in my absence as she was under the loving care of Rachel. I highly recommend Rachel and expect to avail myself of her exceptional service in the future. In my opinion you cannot go wrong leaving your pet(s) in Rachel’s care. Jeff Flynn Lola’s Dad

Rachel is a responsible, reliable and dedicated pet sitter. Her love of animals shows through in her bubbly personality. Also she goes above and beyond to make sure your pet is well taken care of and any little extras she can do to care for your home environment I highly recommend Rachel. She’s the BEST!

It is my honor to recommend Rachel T. for dog and house sitting. She is reliable, trustworthy and has a wonderful bubbly personality. I can’t say enough good things about her. Rachel T. took great care of my 2 schnauzers on numerous occasions. Chloe and Bree loved Rachel so much and so do I. I never had to worry about my girls while they were in Rachel’s care. So many in my neighborhood used her services. Unfortunately Rachel moved to another state and we were left with a great void. We miss her very much but wish her all the best. Sharon G.

Schedule

Hi there! I'm Rachel, and I'd love to care for your pets this summer! During the school year, I work as a substitute teacher for the Little Rock School District, but I'm off for the summer and have a much more flexible schedule. In the fall, I'll be starting school, so I'm looking forward to spending my summer doing something I truly enjoy—caring for animals! Whether your furry family member needs drop-in visits, walks, overnight care, or just some extra love and attention while you're away, I'd be honored to help. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets, and I'll care for them as if they were my own. I can't wait to meet you and your furry family members this summer!

Safety, trust & environment

When I’m caring for your pet in your home, my biggest goal is to keep everything feeling as normal and comfortable for them as possible. I know from my own experience how important routines are, so I stick closely to whatever you already have in place-feeding, potty breaks, walks, medications, all of it. I really try to meet each pet where they are. If they’re high-energy, we’ll play and get that energy out. If they’re more shy or anxious, I’ll go slow and give them space while still being a calm, comforting presence. I want them to feel safe and cared for, not stressed while you’re away. I’m also very mindful of your home- I keep things clean, stay on top of litter boxes or any messes, and can help with things like watering plants. I treat your space with respect so you can come home and feel relaxed. If I’m caring for pets in my home, they’ll be treated like family. I keep a clean, safe environment and make sure they’re supervised, comfortable, and getting plenty of attention (and love!). And I’m big on communication- I’ll send updates and pictures so you can see how your pet is doing and feel at ease while you’re away.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day with me starts with lots of tail wags and good mornings! I'm definitely one of those people who talks to my pets all day long, so don't be surprised if your furry friend gets a running commentary or a few silly conversations. After everyone goes potty and has breakfast, my dog Peanut and I usually enjoy a cup of coffee outside together. We sit in the sunshine for a bit, people-watch, and "catch up" before getting our day started. If your pet enjoys being outside, we'd love for them to join us. The rest of the day depends on what the pets need. We go for walks, play with toys, enjoy lots of belly rubs and cuddles (if they're into that), and make sure everyone gets plenty of attention. On beautiful days, we love heading to a local park for a walk and some fresh air.
