Availability
I work from home for much of the week and have a flexible schedule. I am available to walk dogs first thing in the morning or in the early afternoon. I'm happy to take dogs overnight on some weekdays and on weekends.

My building has a communal garden that your dog can access on lead, and I live a 5min walk away from Coldham's Common. I'll always defer to the owner's preferences when it comes to making your dog comfortable. Dogs are very welcome on the sofa. They have free range of most of the house. I usually take them on one big walk each day (at least one hour) - this can be a couple of shorter walks instead for young or senior dogs who can't walk as much. If off-lead walking is something you'd feel comfortable with, I tend to walk a dog on lead for at least the first 2-3 times, as I like to make sure we have established trust and practiced recall before walking a new dog off-lead. I will always speak to you about your preferences about this and all other matters beforehand.

Information Rachel S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or if there is anything you would like me to pay any particular attention to. I am always happy to make reasonable adjustments. I would especially be grateful if you could let me know: - Any allergies - What particular commands your dog is trained in - Behaviour around other dogs and around cats - Any particular likes or dislikes - Any dietary requirements / preferences - Vet details (if there is an emergency) - If there is anything else I should be aware of - for example if your dog is a particularly enthusiastic squirrel chaser!
A typical day
I would love to take your dog to explore our local parks, including Coldhams Common and Midsummer Common. Your dog is welcome to snuggle up on the sofa, and I'm of course happy to maintain and practice any training or commands.

Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs as children, my family had two little dogs, a Maltese and a Papillon. I cared for both of them when they were older, so I have experience caring for dogs with special needs. During university, I started dog-walking for others. I looked after two dogs in that time, walking them regularly once a week. A couple of years ago, I started looking after dogs more regularly, including hosting them in my home.

Reviews

Rachel and Ben took wonderful care of our boy. It was like a home away from home for him and he was clearly very happy and settled when with them. They sent lovely photos and updates which we were very grateful for as we were missing him. However, knowing he was being so well cared for meant we could enjoy our time away. Highly recommended and will definitely book again.

Rachel and Ben took such great care of our Lab for two weeks at their place. They were really good at communicating with us and Drake was given lovely walks and had a lot of fun with them. We would definitely re-book and I’m sure Drake will be happy to stay again. Thanks Rachel and Ben!

I love leaving my dogs with Rachel (and Ben). I know they're going to be looked after and this couple really listen to understand their needs. I won't hesitate to use their services in future for Lottie and Amber. Thanks both for the peace of mind knowing they are safe and looked after in your care.

Lilly loved staying with Rachel and Ben. I thoroughly recommend them.
