When I care for your pets in your home, my goal is to keep their routine, comfort, and environment exactly the way they like it. I start by following your instructions closely including feeding schedules, litter box care, medications, favorite toys, and any household preferences. I take time to bond with your cat or dog at their pace, offering gentle patience for shy pets and active play for those who crave engagement. I make sure they get the right balance of companionship, enrichment, and quiet time so they feel secure while you’re away. I also keep your home tidy, bring in mail or packages, and send regular updates so you always know how your pets are doing. My focus is on creating a calm, consistent experience that feels familiar and safe for them.
Information Rachel S. would like to know about your pet
The more information you can provide me about your pet before my stay with them, the better I am able to care for them, and the less worry for you. No detail is too silly or small to include.
A typical day
A day with me is all about giving your pet the kind of care that feels natural, fun, and comforting. Whether your buddy is a high‑energy adventurer or a mellow snuggle pro, I match their energy with the right mix of walks, playtime, enrichment, and calm companionship. From the first excited hello to the cozy wind‑down at night, I keep their routine consistent and their tail (or purr) going strong.

Experienced Dog and Cat Sitter
Pet care experience
For more than 20 years, I’ve been the go‑to pet sitter for friends and neighbors, building a reputation for reliable, compassionate care rooted in real experience. My background includes working as a kennel attendant for a professional dog trainer during grad school, where I learned hands‑on skills in behavior, safety, and structured routines. At home, I share my life with a high‑energy Aussie/Cattle Dog mix who keeps me on my toes, so I’m no stranger to dogs who need plenty of exercise, engagement, and patience. Whether your pet is shy, spirited, or somewhere in between, I bring the calm confidence and seasoned care they deserve.

Reviews

Rachel is super knowledgeable about anxious, reactive dogs, this really helped me have peace of mind while I was away bc my dog can be quite a lot!! She sent pictures, left my place clean, would love to have her again!
Rachel is an outstanding pet sitter! She has cared for our two kitties on multiple occasions and she is always so thoughtful and follows our care instructions to a T. She is patient with our Piko who is skeptical of everyone and spends extra time playing with Izzy, our overly energetic cat. She always provides timely updates and keeps us in the loop while caring for our cats. Anyone would be lucky to have Rachel look after their fur babies!
I had the pleasure of working with Rachel at a pet care facility, and I can confidently say she is exceptional with animals. She is patient, kind, highly attuned to canine body language, and dogs absolutely LOVE her. Rachel is communicative, reliable, punctual, and pays attention to details. She is also an incredibly dedicated dog owner. Her own dog is wonderfully well behaved, and she regularly takes her on exciting adventures. Rachel cared for my personal dog during boarding, and I had complete peace of mind knowing he was in such capable and caring hands. I would wholeheartedly trust her with any pet and highly recommend her to anyone looking for quality care.
Rachel has watched my cat, Uma, twice, and I always feel very confident leaving her in Rachel's care. Uma has a big personality, loves attention, and can be a little feisty, but Rachel handles her energy with patience and kindness. One time while I was away, my landlord accidentally let Uma out of the house. Rachel was a huge help in getting Uma safely back into the house, and it was such a relief to know that while I was gone, I could rely on Rachel to handle this situation. That experience really showed me how responsible and dependable she is. Rachel is attentive, caring, and genuinely loves animals. I would absolutely trust her with Uma again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter.
