Because I live on a farm I am quite active day to day. My hobbies that aren’t directly related to animals are quiet and perfect for teaching a settle behaviour or letting quieter dogs settle themselves.

Information Rachel S. would like to know about your pet

It’s helpful for me to know about any big or small concerns regarding behaviour such as reactivity, door darting/running off, or resource guarding so I can prepare my space ahead of time. And if they don’t know how to use stairs it would be helpful to know!

A typical day

Most days I wake up and take the dogs with me to do farm chores. They quickly learn to tag along on a long line and settle for breaks. We have trails nearby for hikes and a local farm store I take my dog through for training. There are fenced in spaces for safe off leash play.

Pet care experience

I have extensive experience with various animals including dogs, cats, rats, fish, chickens, and more! I've worked with reactive and fearful dogs, senior pets with special needs, and working line dogs. I can administer medication and have lots of experience with most breed types. Growing up my family had Bouviers and in my teens owned a malamute, husky, and a mutt that I trained to skijor/bikejor. I currently own a cattle dog/border collie mix. I am a hobbyist dog trainer and am more than happy to follow your dog’s training plan.

Rachel is an amazing sitter! She is often available. When I had an emergency and had to find a dog sitter while I was in the hospital, I worried I wouldn’t find someone. While in the hospital she went and picked up my pup Apollo and picked up all he would need while I was in the hospital.

Rachel is awesome. Kai loves going with her, he doesn’t even turn around to see if we are there when she picks him up.

Would rate Rachel 6 stars if I could! Apollo loved the environment and the care he experienced. I enjoyed chatting with Rachel. She shows true love for animals. I will definitely be asking for Rachel again and would highly recommend her for anyone who needs a babysitter for their pet.
