Caring dog lovers offering a home from home stay
We offer a loving home from home environment for your dogs and will treat them like our own whilst they are with us. Philip (my husband) and I have both grown up with dogs and always enjoyed being with them. Between us we have owned and had experience with many breeds including staffies, retrievers, spaniels and rescue dogs. We have looked after family and friends dogs regularly. We have been together for 20 years and always talked about getting a dog. Our dream of having our own dog finally came true in 2020 when we got our beloved Albie, a now 5 year old cockapoo. We absolutely love dogs of all kinds and Albie is a sweet boy who would welcome your dog to "his" house. Philip has a Canine First Aid Level 2 (VTQ) qualification and we take the care of your dogs very seriously. We have a secure back garden where your dog would be free to run around (depending on your wishes) and they would be welcome in any part of our house. We live near to parks and woodland so your dog would be off on many adventures with us during their stay. I work from home the majority of the time and Philip is based at home so there is always one of us here to look after your dog. We would be very happy to meet you and your dog prior to any visit if you like as that helps reassure both of us that we are the right people for your dog and for you. We know how precious your dog is to you and will be happy to provide regular updates and photos during their stay. We moved to Norwich at the end of 2024 and are now in a position to offer day care again - all previous reviews are from our previous location in Kent hence the last review given was in summer 2024.

From our first meeting I was attracted by Rachel and Philip’s very kind, caring, calm and relaxed demeanours. Having two rescue girls I was quite anxious about leaving them for the day with carers for the first time. I needn’t have been …..I found Rachel’s regular updates and photographs of the girls reassuring too I would have no hesitation leaving my Rosie and Laycie in Rachel and Philip’s care again
We are so thankful to have found Rachel…and Philip. Our elderly and slightly nervous dog Luna spent the day with them yesterday. On arrival Rachel and Philip were so welcoming…and Luna seemed happy and at ease (her tail was wagging)…and she was allowed to explore her new surroundings. Rachel supplied us with updates and pictures throughout the day. It was wonderful to see Luna looking relaxed on a walk…and enjoying her dinner and treats. It was so calm in their house…a lovely atmosphere…and Luna responded to this. Luna got on fine with their gorgeous dog Albie too! We would highly recommend Rachel and Philip…and Luna is already booked in for future visits. Many thanks for caring for Luna so well. 🐾xxx
We fetched our dog from Rachel a couple of days ago. She spent 10 days with Rachel over Christmas. She looked happy and content on our arrival. Rachel supplied us with picture-updates during our time away, which was very reassuring and it was nice to see our dog happy going on walks or relaxed in Rachel's house. I had no concerns and find Rachel’s set up and home very calming and pleasant. Her dog Albie is a cute fellow too and the dogs got along fine. I will definitely book her again in the future.

I couldn't have asked for better care for Benji. Although this was his first stay, he was very relaxed and happy when I collected him. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rachel and I will definitely be booking Benji in for our next holiday.

Schedule
We offer day care on week days as we both work from home. For day care our standard hours are 8am - 6pm. We can sometimes accommodate outside of these hours so do get in touch with us to discuss this further. Any days we are unavailable due to holiday or other commitments will be updated in our calendar. Last minute bookings can sometimes be accommodated, just get in touch!

Safety, trust & environment
We have a secure garden where you dog will be very safe. It's fully fenced and has a lockable gate between the back and front garden. Our house is very dog friendly due to our own dog who has the run of the house and sleeps on our bed. Your dog would be taken for walks on lead and only let off in a secure area with your agreement.
Pets
A typical day
We love to go for walks in the nearby parks and woods where we can enjoy lots of lovely sniffing and wide open spaces. We have a secure back garden to play fetch or just to chill out. When it's raining we might do a shorter walk and have some training and games at home to stimulate body and mind!
