My schedule varies week to week from periods of no availability to periods of open availability, I will make sure to keep things updated so you know what to expect! In fall of 2025, I finished my 2,200+ mile thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. What does that mean for pet care? I LOVE to walk and do so whenever I get the chance! I would love to have your pet join me!

Pet care experience
From family pets, growing up on a farm, pet sitting in college, to multiple years taking care of animal ambassadors as a naturalist, I've been working with and caring for critters of all sorts for nearly as long as I can remember! For critters in the pet category, I have been caring for indoor cats since 2018, from kittens to seniors and every stage in between, including administering medications. My family has had medium/large dogs (rottweilers, labs, and border collie and boxer mixes) my whole life but I have also pet sat for smaller breeds like Boston terriers and cavalier king Charles spaniels. My time as a naturalist gave me experience working with not only varied species, but varied personalities. From grumpy skunks to mischievous snakes and dramatic birds, I have extensive experience across the gambit. It also provided experience with very specific care instructions and detailed documentation. I like to provide pet parents with a thorough summary of my time with their pet so they don't have to worry while they're away.

I highly recommend Rachel as a pet sitter. Rachel is responsible, an excellent communicator, and genuinely loves animals. If you want a pet sitter who will care for your pet as well as you do, that's Rachel. Total peace of mind while traveling.
Rachel has watched my pets for me on numerous occasions when my family goes on vacation. We have an american bulldog and a cavalier king charles spaniel who are both timid and nervous with strangers, but she was great with keeping them comfortable and making them feel safe while we were away. We also have a very high-energy boston terrier that requires a lot of attention (and patience), Rachel never fails to keep her entertained. I would choose Rachel to watch our pets every time, I know she will be on time, reliable, will follow their food schedules/preferences and will keep them safe and happy while we are away.
Rachel cared for my two cats - a rambunctious young tuxedo, and a delicate elderly cat, who were kept separated in my apartment. While I was away, I got timely updates and felt that I could trust Rachel to follow instructions (as quirky and specific as cat care instructions can be) and to communicate any health or behavior abnormalities. Rachel spent time during check-ins with each cat, reading out loud to the senior kitty and getting a lot of active playtime in with the young one, and it seemed like Rachel genuinely enjoyed getting to know and care for my fur family!
