10+ Yrs Professionally Pet-Sitting!

I am a PhD student who has been using Rover as a means of income while studying throughout my entire education journey. I was out of the game a while to tend to my doggies on hospices, but I'm back now and ready to give your littles ones some TLC while you are away! If I am your sitter, I guarantee your home will be just as you left it: fur babies happy and house tidy. I'm an animal lover born and raised. I understand that every pet has a unique personality - and with that - their own specific set of needs. I thrive in settings where I get to build a strong rapport with my clients and their pets, understanding that for many trust takes the time. I've worked with a wide spectrum of animals and breeds: dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, you name it. I'm experienced with anxious pets, senior pets, puppies/kittens even mamas with newborns. I am also experienced in animal first-aid. Special Notes & Fees: These are some ground rules that I established based on lessons learned through my many years of professional house-sitting. I am flexible, but these are boundaries that I prefer to have in place. It isn't about the money, it is about establishing respect for my time and efforts as a care-taker to your babies. - For liability reasons, you must pay for ALL pets that you care for, however low maintenance they may be. This includes * Cats * Birds * Domesticated rodents (pet rats, guinea pigs) * Reptiles Additional pet fee may be negotiated by the client. - $10/Special care fee may be applied to pets with special needs including *Adult dogs who are not potty trained/only pee pad trained * Pets who are in heat *Pets recovering from surgery *Senior pets with significant mobility issues * Pets with significant behavioral challenges -$20 long-distance client fee will be applied to clients outside of New York City

Safety, trust & environment

I am flexible to maintain any arrangements and routines you have with your pets. If your household allows pets on the furniture, I will let them sit and sleep next to me. I make sure to leave the house as clean as it was when I entered it. I do not let guests over in my clients homes. However, my husband does come over at times to check in on me. Please disclose all cameras in the household. Generally, I prefer they are off when I am in the home. Doorbell cameras such as Ring are fine. I will only book households that respect my privacy and this policy.

Rachel both house sits and does drop ins with my two kitties and I'm incredibly grateful as it's remarkably hard to find someone I completely trust with them. She's phenomenal with my two ragdolls and always leaves my house cleaner than when I left.

Rachel is amazing. She got right into the swing of our dog and new cat household, and gave them terrific parental care for three days while we were (nervously) away. She is super communicative and responsive, and we will definitely look to using her again…..!

We loved having Rachel in the home to watch Ponyboy! She was attentive, kind and most important, willing to be bossed around by a corgi all weekend! She sent tons of pictures and videos and I 100% recommend her to any NYC pet parent!

The best pup sitter that exists in the world! Wow wow wow highly recommend! I have a very picky eater pup who is also a total Velcro and she followed all my crazy feeding instructions to a T and even came up with solutions. My puppy never eats food at any of the sitters/daycare. And she managed to feed him. She walked him and took care of him as if he was her own. She loves dogs! I felt so safe going away on a vacation because she kept sending me updates and videos and pics all the time. We are so lucky that Rachel exists. She’s exceptional! 😊

Schedule

I am best fit for a pet with a working parent, who can handle 6 hours alone if need-be. I have class 4 days a week most weeks. Mondays and Wednesdays are my busiest days where I am gone 5-6 hours. Most days I am only gone for 1-2 hours. I only accept sittings nearby my school, so travel time is minimal. On weekends, I have open availability. I normally stay home all day working on homework.
