Pet care experience

Trusted & Reliable Caretaker

I have been a part time dog sitter, cat sitter, house sitter, etc since I was 10 years old. I've also been a volunteer at my local animal shelter since I was 15. I've taken care of old dogs, young dogs, energetic dogs, couch potato dogs, friendly dogs, shy dogs, big dogs, small dogs, you name it. I've been doing this a long time and I've gotten really good understanding each pet and their individual needs. Every dog is different, and I love them all. I also have experience with dogs who need medications and ear drops, and I am Red Cross certified in Pet First Aid!

Safety, trust & environment

Firstly, I want to say I understand meeting people online and inviting them into your home can be very anxiety inducing, and I want to reassure you that with me, your pet, your house, and your belongings are safe. If you have ANY questions or concerns, please let me know. I'm here to help answer anything that could cause you worry. Your pets are part of the family and I understand staying safe is a priority. When I personally am trusted to stay in someone's home, I usually stick around the same area of the house out of habit. I keep food where it belongs to prevent mishaps, and keep things off the floor to prevent injuries of their me or pets. When going for walks I like to stick to trails or sidewalked areas that have decent cell reception, just in case. I keep treats with me, extra bags, and have a phone holder for my wrist so I can have a hand free, especially for dogs who get excited from wildlife and could suddenly pull really hard anytime. I keep a pop up bowl and a bottle for water breaks. Before going for longer walks I touch test the path in case they are too hot. I also have experience putting jackets on dogs in the colder months.

Rachel is a very professional and responsible young lady who takes her job seriously and does it well. We have two elderly special needs dogs, and we fully trust her judgement when it comes to their care. We appreciate knowing that they are in very capable hands while we are away. Good communication, honesty and dependability are so important in a pet sitter, and you will find that with Rachel.

Rachel is so so wonderful with animals! She did fantastic with our dogs and livestock animals on overnight stays while we were out of town. Our dogs absolutely love seeing her when she arrives. We will absolutely be using Rachel in the future when we have more jobs out of town. I would recommend Rachel to anyone needing an animal sitter!

Rachel dogsat my pitbull Jesse for a week. She asked me how often I like updates or check ins. That was great. I was worried hiring someone online, but the house looked better than when I left. Nothing was taken. She scuffed my vacuum but was honest and offered to get me a new one, but I don't care about a little mark on a vacuum. She took good care of Jesse, and the cleaning was an extra that was great. Would recommend.

Rachel surpassed expectations during her 4 day stay at our home. Our doggy got sick right away and she was responded as if our dog was her own. She communicated often and working through the problems together, she fixed our pup right up. On top of that, she helped us clean up our home as we were unable to get to everything before going away. The place was spotless and the dog was super happy. Rachel will absolutely watch our dog again.

Rachel had great questions at our meet and greet. She was prompt; her communication was regular and honest. Watson was well cared for as was our house! We have already booked Rachel for future dates and my parents will be using her as well for their timid golden!
