Must Love Dogs ☑️

Your Valleywide Petsitting Professional—Book now! I've been doing Rover as my full time job for years now + have been enjoying the experience! My coworkers are always happy to see me, and I get to feel like the service I provide matters. If you’re looking for peace of mind while you’re away, I’ll be happy to keep your pet(s) company in the comfort of their own home! I have experience caring for dogs big and small, young and old, and the occasional cat over the years. I've also fed tortoises and a fish or two. I was the one responsible for the family dog as a kid, our beloved Bailey. I've also had my own dog as an adult, sweet Tallulah. They were both soft-coated wheaten terriers, so you know I can hang with pets of all energy levels! That wheaten-greetin' as they call it is no joke! I'm looking forward to sharing the love in my heart with your pet(s) while you're not available, to ensure they get all their needs met! I'm currently doing Rover as my full time job—what an absolute dream! This means I'm available around the clock to provide loving company for your pets! Because I am there for your ‘fur babies’ full time, this means my prices may be higher than other sitters who would watch your pet around their schooling or their primary careers. I do keep in mind that you may already have travel expenses to consider, so I calculate my rates based on what I need to pay my bills and maintain my modest lifestyle in the current economy. I made $29,000 last year and owed $5,000 in taxes, so you can imagine why I have increased my rates to reflect expenses in 2025. Rover has the Rover Guarantee™️ and helps us find each other, so they take 20% of the rates set by sitters. So when you look at my rates, I’m making 80% of that amount. If you tip me, that means I can get a Great Clips haircut I didn’t think was in the budget, or put money toward car maintenance + repairs that might otherwise not be possible. My home is a studio apartment, and I have kept my monthly bills to a minimum. You help me pay rent which is now over $1,300 (for the studio!), car, renter's, and health insurance which together are about $350, in-network therapy (done on ZOOM so I can remain in the home) twice a month (keeping me healthy + happy for everyone’s pets!) coming out to about $50 total, along with gas + groceries + internet + phone, and most recently a car repair bill of $3,000 I’m working to pay off each month. I also have to consider dental and visions costs, emergency health needs, and finding a little extra to have a chance to visit family on the relatively rare days off if I can (Turns out, if you don't make your own PTO policy, you can't afford a rest day!). I also as a self employed person am responsible for both sides of taxes, meaning I pay a significant percentage of my income for taxes, over 15% of my rate goes to taxes. I am transparent here so you know, I am not trying to price gouge you—I am simply working to make a living by providing pet care in the familiarity of your home. I hope the reviews speak for themselves that I care a great deal about what I do as a petcare provider. I am always happy to be a meaningful part of the lives of pets, our must vulnerable and beloved family members. I take my work seriously and am committed to being the best petsitter I can be! I hope this information is helpful in understanding why having the benefit of a full-time petsitter does come with a cost. I do this because I love the work, and charge because I have to pay my way in society like everyone else. Thanks for seeing my value! While this is my full-time job, meaning I don’t need to go into an office for eight hours a day, I do sometimes have to be away for shorter periods of time. I may leave occasionally to provide dog walks or drop-in visits for other clients. Drop-ins have always been between 30 minutes and two hours. With this and commuting between client homes, I’m typically not gone for more than three hours max. If you’re comfortable with your pet(s) spending more or less time alone, please discuss this with me prior to booking. If you would prefer I not leave the home at all during my stay, outside of an emergency, I do offer the option of exclusivity for an additional fee. Thank you for letting me know what will be best for your family!

Safety, trust & environment

When it comes to safety + trust, I am happy to ensure you have peace of mind knowing your pet(s) and your residence are attended to and secure while you're away. I do super well with lists if you've got a solid routine going, and I'm also open to loose guidelines if you're more of a laidback pet parent. I know everyone has their own habits and energy levels, and I'm happy to help replicate that for your pet so they'll continue feeling right at home, even when you're away. I love a long walk and letting dogs smell the roses, literally and figuratively. Life is meant to be savored and can you imagine having the sensory experience they do with that heightened sense of smell? I have a history of working in trust & safety for a large corporation, so I know the importance of being mindful of surroundings, other pets, and potential risks. I look forward to loving and protecting your pet(s) like my own. Please let me know how I can support you in caring for your furry loved one(s)! ***Please Note:*** If we have not both confirmed a booking in the Rover app (paid and on my calendar), I may not be able to honor previously discussed dates. I manage a lot of bookings and try to keep my calendar straight—but I am human. So, I rely on checking my Rover app for existing bookings since I can’t keep everything in my noggin! Please, if your travel dates are certain, at least put in a pending request so I can try to keep that in mind and avoid any scheduling issues. If you haven’t confirmed the booking and I get a request for the same dates, I will always work to honor the first received request and see if you’re ready to pay and confirm your need for my services. I work to keep my word and be a reliable sitter. I appreciate your help in making sure I can keep track of my bookings by officially putting in your requests in the Rover app.

We love Rae! She is so good with our special needs cattle dog and we know she has strong judgment if something unexpected happens (like running into an off-leash dog while on a walk with our sensitive guy). Cannot recommend her enough.

We love Rae! And so does our discerning old cattle dog! She’s been caring for him for years, and we trust her implicitly to adapt if things don’t go as planned (like he refuses to take his meds 🙃).

Rachel is the BEST! We have used her to care for our girls (and recommended her to others) and she always provides stellar care for our pups and our home. We are so grateful for the peace of mind we have knowing the girls are in the best hands. We love Rachel!

Schedule

You can review my calendar here in the app or message me directly with a request to confirm my availability. This is my full time job and I spend far more of my days in everyone else’s homes than my own, which means my schedule is wide open unless otherwise booked with other pets! If you know your trip dates ahead of time, your best bet is to book in advance to ensure the dates you’re needing my services are reserved for your pet(s). If you have concerns about your pet(s) being left alone for brief periods, such as when I may leave for a “drop-in” visit to check on a pet or provide a walk for dogs, please ask about the option to arrange for an exclusivity fee to ensure my only priority is being in only your home with only your pet(s). I understand some dogs, and even some cats, can have separation anxiety and want to give them the best petcare possible!

Is your dog more timid or curious? Do they have any history of altercations with other dogs, initiated by them or not? If I'm staying with your dog, what is the feeding schedule and portion for them? Are there any medications at this time? If your dog had to pick a favorite toy or pastime, what would it be? What is the contact information for the vet you prefer in the event of an emergency? Prevention, and preparedness, are key.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass an identity verification. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
