Being a stay-at-home cat mom, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to visit at consistent, predictable times. I use a car as transportation, so I can get there reliably.

I treat every booking as a commitment, not just a task, so you can count on me to show up on time and follow the care routine exactly as you've set it out. My own pets are fed twice a day, and have their water bowl cleaned and refilled once a day. I can co-exist with your pet, or play with them for 30 minutes, whatever they need!
Information Rachel P. would like to know about your pet
I'd rather know too much than too little. Any medical needs or medications, food allergies or dietary restrictions, how they do with strangers, and anything that might stress them out. For cats especially, knowing whether they're shy or social helps me approach them the right way from the first visit. For dogs, I like to know their leash manners and any triggers ahead of time so I can keep walks calm and safe. I always do a meet & greet before a first booking so nothing catches either of us off guard.
A typical day
For cats, I like to follow their lead. Some want playtime with a wand toy, some just want company while they supervise me cleaning their litter box. For dogs, whether it's a walk around the block, some backyard time, or just hanging out together, I pay attention to their energy and body language so I'm not overwhelming them or letting them get overwhelmed. I always bring patience, care, and attention.

Pet care experience
I love animals. I've taken care of multiple dogs and cats throughout my life. My two cats, Prim and Khaleesi, are my world! I have experience with large and small dogs, as well as volunteer experience at the Oakland County Animal Shelter in Michigan. I've cared for energetic pups all the way to senior dogs that can't use the steps anymore.

Reviews
Rachel is a 100% certified cat lover. Her cats are her babies and she treats them as such, but I guarantee she'll treat your pets even better, because that's just the kind of person she is!
Rachel is a great person to be taking care of pets. She is a very loving and attentive caregiver, but best of all she's exceptional at following specific directions to accommodate for any special needs a pet might have. I also know her to be very thorough, and very keen on sending pics and updates so you need not worry about your pets while you're away.
Rachel took amazing care of my cat, Lucy, while I was in the hospital. She made sure Lucy was fed on time, kept her litter box clean, and gave her plenty of attention and affection so she wouldn’t feel lonely (she has anxiety). Rachel also kept me updated with messages and pictures, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. When I came home, Lucy was happy, healthy, and clearly very well cared for. I’m incredibly grateful for Rachel’s work and would absolutely call on her if i was in need again.
Rachel took very good care of my dog and cats while I was on vacation. I would highly recommend her. She does a very good job.
