We take the time to understand your dog’s individual needs, routine and personality so we can create a true “home from home” experience. We are a family of four with two 10-year-old children and our friendly 1-year-old Labrador. My husband David and I have been caring for dogs for friends and family for over six years, and we’re now delighted to open our home to your much-loved pets. We have experience with a range of temperaments and adapt our approach to suit each dog. Whether your dog is energetic and playful or prefers a calmer environment, we ensure they feel safe, comfortable and well cared for at all times.

Rachel was absolutely fantastic looking after our black Labrador maisie. I received videos every day of their walks and in every single one Maisie looked so happy. I completely trust Rachel - she is so kind and caring with the dogs and looked after Maisie so well when she got a stick caught taking her to the vets and giving her extra cuddles! Highly recommend Rachel and we will be using her again 💕

Digby had another lovely stay with Rachel and her family. We get lots of updates and always know he's in good hands. Rachel was was also really helpful and flexible with drop off and settling him in back at home.

Barney has stayed with Rachel and her family on several occasions now, and is always extremely excited to arrive there. He always has a wonderful combination of play and stimulation as well as plenty of attentive chill time.

Rachel is absolutely amazing—always so accommodating, even with last-minute bookings. She sent up-to-date photos and videos of Harry throughout the day.

Daisy, our dog, loved being at Rachel's. We are very pleased to have found such a loving place for her to stay from time to time. Thanks Rachel.

Our dog is a little anxious but she settled in very quickly at Rachel's house. Rachel provided photos and videos twice a day throughout the week. When I picked our dog up she didn't want to leave! Excellent dog sitter.

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are our top priorities. Our semi-detached five-bedroom home has a secure, fully fenced medium-sized garden, and outdoor time is always supervised. Dogs are welcome to enjoy the whole home if that is what they are used to. We carefully manage introductions, especially with our Labrador. These are done calmly and in a neutral setting—usually on a walk—so both dogs can get to know each other in a relaxed way. We monitor all interactions and can provide separate spaces if needed to ensure every dog feels comfortable. Dogs are supervised throughout the day, with an adult at home at all times. In the unlikely event of illness or emergency, we will contact you immediately and take your dog to a local vet if required, following any instructions you have provided.

Pets

A typical day

Our day usually starts with a good morning walk, often at Ashenbury or Dinton, in quieter areas away from busy spots. We then spend the day at home with plenty of enrichment, playtime and opportunities for rest and relaxation. In the afternoon, we head out for another walk around 4pm. Dinner is served after the walk, followed by a calm and cosy evening—dog cuddles are always welcome! We aim to follow your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible to help them settle quickly and feel completely at ease in our home.

To provide the best possible care, we like to learn as much as we can about your dog before their stay. This includes their daily routine, feeding schedule, exercise needs and any medical requirements. It’s also helpful to know about their temperament—how they are around other dogs, children, and new environments—as well as any specific preferences, anxieties or behaviours. As we have children and our own dog, we kindly ask that all guest dogs are comfortable around older children and other dogs before booking with us.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
