Pet care experience

Cat friend who works from home 🏡

My current furry friend Zimmie is an asthmatic cat who taught me all about specialized TLC. She taught me how to administer oral and topical medication as well as a cat inhaler. Before her, my cat Cashew taught me how to care for an anxious, avoidant, hyperactive medium-hair cat, how to earn trust, how to help with hygiene. Prior to them, I’ve lived with and cared for four cats with wildly different personalities and grew up with a kitty who’s the textbook definition of a scaredy cat, so I feel properly equipped to care for cats of all kinds.

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for cats, I am attentive and thorough. If instructions are left, I follow them to the letter, and if I’m just given guidelines and shown where things are, I use my best judgement as a pet parent myself. I leave thorough notes via Rover Cards (that account for every activity) and take tons of pictures. I only start a Rover Card once I’m in the presence of your pet and I only end it once the door is locked behind me. My attention is 100% on your pet/their needs for the duration of my stay.

Rachel is the best - I messed up the booking dates and she rearranged her schedule to check in on the cats. I know they are in safe hands so I don’t have to worry (even with our complicated medical cat)! She also goes above and beyond to make sure they have some enrichment time.

Rachel is amazing! She has great rapport with our cat, and is genuinely caring. Her work was thorough, and her daily reports were very descriptive. My husband and I were at ease, knowing that our cat (plus our plants) were in good hands.

We’re so grateful Rachel was able to accommodate sitting our cats during peak summer travel season. As always she took fantastic care of our 3 cats, was timely with her check ins, left detailed notes and included an array of photos for us to see how they were doing each day. I cannot recommend her enough, she’s truly the cat whisperer!

This is the second time Rachel has cat sit for me and she does such an amazing job. Between sending me an abundance of pictures, playing with my cats, cleaning up any mess they made, and making sure all their robots are working accordingly, I feel extremely comfortable leaving my boys in her care. 10/10, will book again 🐈‍⬛ 💕 🐈‍⬛

Schedule

Mornings and evenings will generally work best with my WFH schedule, but I try my best to be flexible and accommodating. The one thing that I ask of my sitters (and love to hold myself to as well) is that I'd prefer they come around the same time every day while I'm away, but I let them choose what that time works best for their schedule. That way your cats can experience some regularity while you're away. 2026 update: I've started a Master's program (graduating in 2027). While I'm still largely flexible, my upcoming class schedule varies. I appreciate you being willing to let me adjust drop-ins slightly around my classes! I'll communicate with you on a case by case basis if class times conflict with your requested times.

Please let me know a bit about your cat! Whether it’s just a few personality details, food/play preferences, or care requirements, it all helps me get to know your furry friend.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
