Cats

Availability

Mon/Fri I work from home in Everett so I would be able to drop in with more flexibility and could potentially work from yours so I can spend more time with your cat if desired. Tuesdays - Thursdays I work in office so I am less flexible and can only provide evening drop ins after 6:30pm. Weekends are most flexible timing wise.

Safety, trust & environment

I prioritize safety and trust in every home I visit. At my client’s home, I: Follow your instructions exactly. Keep doors and windows closed at all times to ensure your cat never accidentally escapes. Clean litter boxes thoroughly and dispose of waste properly to keep the home fresh and hygienic. Use gentle handling and respect your cat’s boundaries, especially with shy or cautious cats. Send photo and message updates after every visit so you always know your cat is safe, happy, and loved.

Information Rachel M. would like to know about your pet

Before our first meet & greet or booking, it helps to know: -Your travel dates and times (when you’ll drop off/pick up keys or when I’ll arrive/depart). -Your home access instructions (key location, lockbox code, alarm code, etc.). -Any house rules that apply to pet care (shoes off, areas to avoid, special cleaning routines). -If your cat(s) go outdoors (I prefer indoor-only homes to protect my own indoor cat, but I’m flexible with full disclosure). -Your preferred communication style: how often you’d like updates (every visit? once a day?), and whether you prefer text or photo-heavy check-ins. -Any emergencies contacts (vet name/number, backup contact person in the area) if something goes wrong while you’re away. I’ll take care of all the pet-specific details (feeding, meds, litter, play) once I have the pet profile in the app, I just need these logistics and preferences up front so everything goes smoothly.

A typical day

Every cat is different, so I tailor each visit to your cat’s personality and routine. During a typical evening drop-in, I: Greet your cat calmly and let them come to me first. Freshen their water and feed them the exact amount and type they’re used to. Clean the litter box thoroughly so their space stays fresh. Spend quality time playing with toys (wand toys, laser pointers, balls, etc.), chasing, pouncing, and encouraging natural hunting instincts. Offer treats (if allowed) and gentle petting or cuddles, respecting your cat’s boundaries. Send you a quick photo and message update so you know your cat is safe, fed, and happy. On weekend visits or overnights, I: Follow the same routine but with more time for extended play, cuddles, and calm companionship. Keep the home quiet, safe, and comfortable, with doors and windows secured at all times. Spend extra time engaging shy cats, building trust slowly and gently. Optional: read, work on my laptop, or watch a show quietly in the background so your cat gets used to my presence without feeling overwhelmed. The fun for me is seeing your cat relax, play, and eventually seek me out for pets. I love making sure every cat feels loved, safe, and like the star of the house while you’re away, because you truly deserve to enjoy that time away. I know the value of someone providing this service for my own cat when I travel, and I treat every cat I care for the same way I’d want my own cat to be treated.

Cat care experience

I’m a dedicated cat mom with my own strictly indoor cat, so I truly understand what cats need to feel safe and loved. I offer calm, gentle evening drop-ins (feed, litter box cleaning, playtime, treats, and lots of love) and weekend overnights when you need someone there while you travel. I’m: Reliable and detail-oriented: I send photo updates after every visit and follow your instructions exactly (feeding amounts, medication, routines). Comfortable with all types of cats: kittens, adults, seniors, shy cats, and cats with special needs. Available evenings during the week and flexible on weekends for longer visits or overnights in your home. I treat every cat like my own and make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and stress-free while you’re away, so you can unwind and truly enjoy your time away.

Rachel is absolutely a cat lady. My cats can tell. They can be finicky with new people but they cozied up to her immediately. She’s diligent and thoughtful. I had a lot of specificities and she nailed all of them. I will book again.

Rachel was the perfect sitter for our 2 cats! She stopped by everyday to feed them and clean litter boxes. She took time to give them treats and play each visit. The daily notes and photos gave me peace of mind that the cats were doing ok while we were gone.

Rachel was great for our two kitties. She was there right when she said she would be, sent cute pics, and got our very shy girl to eat!

Rachel was an amazing pet sitter! She left really thorough post-visit notes and many pictures which was greatly appreciated. She went above and beyond making sure our cat was taken care of while we were away. I highly recommend Rachel and we will definitely be booking with her again!
