We had a family dog from the time I was a toddler. The first dog was a Doberman, then the next family dog was a Springer Spaniel. My family also volunteered as puppy raisers with Guide Dogs for the Blind and we raised 5 guide dog puppies. One flunked out of guide dog school and came back to live with us until she was 13. Later, I volunteered with Guiding Eyes for the Blind and helped puppy raisers with their new puppies, and weekly helped teach the classes from 12 weeks when the puppies first arrive to their puppy raiser homes, up to 18 months when they leave their puppy raisers the puppies get trained before they go back in for their formal under harness training for their blind person. All 9 years of work there we used positive reinforcement with the dogs and helped the puppy raisers. I also attended some classes with Guiding Eyes on dog body language. I also have my own rescue dog who I adopted during that time and he has had positive reinforcement training since I adopted him. I now assist owners with training or behavioral needs they may have for their dogs to make the owners and the dogs happier and more peaceful living. I also have added a list of other services, from boarding in my home, to house sitting in yours, dog walking, drop in visits, or daycare in my house.

Best sitter I’ve had through Rover for our beloved Rottie, who is the family’s fur baby! She provided updates and pictures throughout our vacay which we absolutely loved! Excellent communication & she treated our Rottie as if it were her own.
Rachel was a great communicator and I really appreciate how flexible and responsive she was. Her dog Riley was a also total sweetheart. Her place was well situated for even a large dog like mine.

From the moment I contacted Rachel, her professionalism and genuine love for animals were evident. She took the time to thoroughly understand my dog's unique needs, preferences, and any specific instructions I had. This attention to detail immediately put me at ease, knowing that my dog was in capable hands. Throughout the entire duration of the sitting, Rachel maintained excellent communication. She regularly provided updates, including photos and videos of my dog, which brought immense joy to my day. It was evident that she not only cared for my pet's physical well-being but also nurtured a loving and playful environment.
Rachel was great with Joey! He was well taken care and seemed plenty happy when we came to pick him up. We received daily updates and pictures/videos. She was transparent about her for care for him and was great about asking us about anything she wasn't sure about. Would definitely book with Rachel again.
Rachel is amazing! I needed a last minute sitter, and Rachel was available for an amazing price. My dog has been through a lot, and had dealt with a really terrible rover sitter experience. Rachel has redeemed rover for us! She was so kind, patient, understanding, kept up with updating me, reassured that my fur baby was being taken care of. When I come back to The Bay I forsure will come back to Rachel! Highly recommend her for anyone looking, and her sweet fur baby Riley is so kind and so beautiful. ?

I am working from home and available basically all the time, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and over weekends as well. Days: M, T, W, T, F, S, S

Safety, trust & environment
I don’t have kids or cats. Just me and my one 10 year old personal dog are in the house. I live in a condo and don’t have a backyard, but I have always walked my dog in the neighborhood and gone to hike at Lake Chabot which is only a 12 minute drive or at Oakland hills parks.
Pets
A typical day
The dogs start with breakfast and a morning walk, then play with any of the copious amount of safe chew toys I have for my own hard chewer. I also fill Kongs and freeze them with a little kibble and water. We take afternoon walks around the neighborhood and also like to go over to Lake Chabot or Oyster Point to hike off leash a few times a week.

- It would be helpful to know what your dog’s normal routine and food and walks and potty breaks are. Since I have my own dog who is not resource aggressive, but it would be nice to know if I should separate dogs at feeding time.
