Trainer w/Military Pet Experience

I started working with pets in 2016 as a pet sitter and dog walker. To advance my canine education and experience, I attended an intensive dog training course in Texas in 2019 and became a certified Dog Trainer and Behavior Specialist. I have an academic background in Social Work and volunteer experience with children and families, most notably as a group facilitator for a grief center for nine years. I have been working almost exclusively with military families and their resilient dogs all over the US, and am currently looking forward to expanding work to all types of pet families! *As a previous MilSpouse with good standing access, I am open to servicing clients living on military installations, through routine-visitor sponsorship. Training specialties include: incorporating children into the (age appropriate) raising of household pets, working with senior dogs, loose-leash walking, obedience training, preparing for moves with your pets, lifestyle placement for new puppy/ foster/ adoption, establishing structures/ routines for reactivity, teaching you how to read dog body language, and safe and proper tool education + training with reputable brands. I also have additional, professional INSURANCE with Pet Care Insurance. Valid through JAN2027

All outside time is monitored 100% with me in the yard with them or on leash. *DOD* Open to having clients sponsor me on military installations as a previous MilSpouse with good standing access. *INSURED* with Pet Care Insurance. We are so thankful for Rachel and her willingness to take in our Watts!! Her in-depth dig into who he is as a pup helped ease our stress of having to leave him behind over thanksgiving! Daily updates of their adventures helped make us miss him less knowing that he was having just as much fun as we were. Upon his return to us, you can tell he wasn’t stressed while away and that his mind was challenge. He definitely returned with better manners than he left us with, and our own training and expectations were held in place while away. We hope to be able to use her again in the future!!!

I have been afforded the opportunity of witnessing Rachel's first hand dog training. Rachel's ability to understand and evaluate dogs and their relationship/connection with their owners is unparalleled. Rachel has the ability to read various situations and provide quick concise instruction allowing both dog and owner to succeed in the most challenging of situations. The patience, knowledge and effort in EVERY exchange provides comfort and assurance that this is not only benefitting the animal, but shows how I the owner can best show up for the animal. Rachel has a polite, friendly demeanor that is an absolute joy to be around. It is clear Rachel loves and understands animals while communicating to me the owner in a manner that is very understandable! Using the knowledge learned from Rachel, I have a much better understanding of my animals' needs and how impactful some consistency and effort can be! Highly recommend!!

I do not have any breed limitations, and I have experience with breeds of all sizes and temperaments. This includes experience with highly reactive and fearful dogs, and separation anxiety. When I offer Boarding services, I do strongly suggest your dog is crate trained prior to service OR you can inquire about crate training programs I offer. Having a calm, safe space to den and decompress will make their visits more relaxing for all in my care. I do require all dogs to be potty trained OR please reach out before booking to inquire about availability for potty training packages I offer.
