Rachel's Dog Zone

I have been spoiling and pampering little dogs for almost twenty years. Every dog who comes through my doors is family and treated that way. We snuggle on the sofa, play games and run in the fenced yard. I specialize in dogs with special needs such as anxiety or chronic conditions. I require every dog to be current on their shots, on flea control and to be clean and free from contagious disease There is nothing I love more than learning all about each dog's personality and bonding with them. My home is pretty much like summer camp for dogs and my goal is to make each dog's vacation here as much fun with as little stress as possible. I work very hard to replicate exactly what each dog is used to at home so if they sleep with you, they'll sleep with me etc... I also send loads of pics and videos so each owner can see how much fun their baby is having while they're away. I only watch dogs under 25lbs and sorry, no large breed puppies. I do charge a little extra for small breed puppies in my care but this is because of all the extra attention puppies require. All dogs must be spayed/neutered except puppies under 6mo. All dogs must be vaccinated and using flea/ tick prevention. I absolutely love this job and can't wait to meet you and your fur baby! I am booking for Christmas now and make sure that every pup lucky enough to spend Christmas with my family wakes up to a gift and extra special attention!

Rachel was so kind and great with Annie! She sent lots of pictures and updates. Her expertise in caring for small dogs was evident from the start! We will definitely be using Rachel’s services again.

I hit the jackpot with Rachel! I have an older, special needs dog. She took care of him so well. She sent pictures and videos daily, multiple times a day. I know Louie was well-loved. She’s really good with dogs, she even gave me some tips and pointers for giving my dog his pills and eye drops when I picked him up. Definitely recommend.

Lucky has stayed with Rachel a few times now - and it just keeps getting better. She treats him so well, and he’s very comfortable with her. Regular pics texted - and always clear he’s well taken care of.

I can't say enough about how wonderful Rachel was. She treated Ollie like her own and sent lots of pictures so we could see how much fun he was having. Rachel was very professional and made sure she had all of the information needed to make Ollie feel at home. You can tell she genuinely loves dogs. Ollie loved playing with her little Maverick and the other dogs she was caring for. We will definitely go back!

Rachel was SO wonderful with my little Pomeranian, Bumble! She sent so many cute pictures and updates, was very flexible with my work schedule and was so very kind and professional. She loves each dog she watches like her own, and her own two dogs are so welcoming and friendly. Her fenced in yard was perfect for Bumble to run around too! We will definitely use Rachel again and recommend her highly!!

Loved the updates, pictures, and communications from Rachel. We were able to relax and not worry about Zig, because we could see that he was happy and playing each day. Rachel took great care of our little man and we highly recommend her!

Schedule

I am home with the dogs pretty much 24/7 although I do run errands. I wake up extremely early and all the pups go outside. In fact, I do potty breaks in the night if necessary.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced yard and a breezeway which means even if a dog is slick enough to dart out the door ahead of me, they can only get into my yard. That really doesn’t happen, but it provides an extra layer of security. I am able to give medication, even insulin injections and understand anxiety well. I have a true understanding of dog behavior and am quick to respond to a dog’s needs. I watch the pups like a hawk all day and love every minute of it!

Pets

A typical day

I love to pamper small dogs and do so every day! We get up early, go potty and have breakfast. Then comes playtime!!! I have a long hallway perfect for fetch and my living room is designed for dog comfort and play. I have a huge corner window in my kitchen with ottomans under it and all the dogs love sitting in the window and watching all the activity outside. We take a couple naps throughout the day between play sessions and weather permitting, we go outside to run in the yard each afternoon. At night I snuggle up with all the dogs and sleep. I usually offer a 1am potty break or more if necessary for any dogs who can’t make it through the night.
