Pet care experience

Basically Their 2nd Mum🥰

I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and caring for them has always been a natural part of my life. I grew up with two adorable cockapoos and have been surrounded by pets across my whole family. My grandparents had a Pomeranian and a poodle, one side of my family has cats, and the other has a cavapoo, as well as a rescue dog my cousins welcomed into their home. Being around so many different animals and personalities has taught me just how individual every pet really is. Since losing my own dog, caring for other people’s dogs has become particularly special to me. I don’t really know how to do it by halves 😂. When a dog comes to stay, they very quickly become part of my life and I genuinely love getting to know all the little things that make them them, from their routines and favourite toys to their funny habits, preferred snuggle spots and the very specific tactics they use to convince me they haven’t been fed yet! I’ve cared for dogs of different ages, breeds and needs, including senior dogs, dogs with mobility considerations, dogs requiring medication and dogs who need additional reassurance or company. I’m very happy adapting my routine around the dog in front of me, whether that means long adventures and lots of enrichment, slower walks and extra rest, sticking closely to medication or feeding schedules, or simply providing a calm person to curl up beside. I also take their wellbeing incredibly seriously. I pay attention to the small changes in behaviour, appetite, energy or comfort that can tell you something isn’t quite right, and I would always rather be overly cautious than dismiss something concerning. If a dog in my care needs me, they’re my priority, whatever the time of day. I work from home and intentionally keep the number of dogs I care for small. I never want dogs coming through my home to feel like they’re simply one of many. I want to have the time to give each of them proper individual attention and make their stay genuinely fun, comfortable and full of affection. Expect plenty of walks, playtime, puzzles and enrichment, sofa snuggles, adventures where appropriate and probably far too many photos 😂. I’m also a big believer in keeping owners involved. I love sending updates and little snapshots of what we’ve been up to, not just because I know how reassuring that is when you’re away, but because I genuinely enjoy sharing all the funny little moments and parts of their personality that emerge while they’re here. Ultimately, I want your dog to have more than somewhere safe to stay. I want them to have their own little holiday, feel completely at home and be loved and fussed over enough that they’re genuinely excited when they realise they’re coming back ❤️

Rachel is absolutely amazing - she went above and beyond! Our dog clearly had an amazing time and he and Rachel turned into BFF’s. Rachel regularly sent updates and pictures, and was very responsive throughout. If it were possible to give 6 stars, then I most definitely would!

Rachel was really great! First of all, she’s very responsive and it was so easy to coordinate our booking with her. You can tell she really loves dogs and takes time to understand your needs and ask the right questions to ensure she provides the best possible care! On the day, she sent us tons of updates and made Albus feel really welcoming in her space. She has such a positive and lovely energy too, really friendly. We left knowing Albus would be in good hands and are planning to use her again for a trip away.

Schedule

I work from home, which means the dogs staying with me get lots of company, attention and flexibility throughout the day. My schedule is generally very adaptable and I’m happy to work around your dog’s existing routine as much as possible, particularly feeding times, walks, medication and bedtime habits. I intentionally keep the number of dogs I care for small so nobody gets lost in the crowd. They tend to become my little shadow while they’re here, whether I’m working, making lunch or settling down for the evening 😂 I know plans can be unpredictable, so I’ll always try to be as flexible and helpful as I can while making sure every dog already in my care continues to get the time, love and attention they deserve 🐾

Safety, trust & environment

✅ Enhanced DBS Certificate I am always very vigilant and in tune with the animals in my life (a sixth sense if you don’t find it too cheesy 😂). In the owners home I take my time to make sure I fully understand your pet, their routines and needs. You know your furry friend better than anyone, therefore I make sure that we are all on the same page so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re getting the best care and love ❤️! In my own home everything is warm, inviting and safe. My flat is situated right around the corner from the lovely Kensington Gardens so strolling around the greenery is a lovely treat for both me and your pet 🌳! I also know all the lovely side streets and routes to avoid crowds if, like me, they can get a bit overstimulated! At home, dogs are treated as part of the household rather than confined to a particular area. I’m very attentive to their individual behaviour and comfort and will follow any instructions you give me around food, medication, mobility, interactions with other dogs or anything else they need. I’m also very careful about introducing dogs and only accept combinations I’m comfortable will be happy together. Their safety and wellbeing will always come before squeezing in another booking.

A typical day

Every dog is different, so I tailor their day around their normal routine, personality, energy levels and what they actually enjoy. There’s no one-size-fits-all schedule here! A typical day starts with a morning toilet break or walk followed by breakfast and, usually, a good post-breakfast snooze while I work. During the day we’ll have walks suited to their needs, lots of company and affection, playtime and enrichment such as puzzles, snuffle activities and games for dogs who enjoy them. And of course, lots of photo updates for you! Being so close to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park means we can have lovely park adventures, while older dogs or those with mobility needs can have shorter, gentler outings. Equally, if your dog’s idea of heaven is spending half the day upside down on my sofa receiving tummy rubs, I’m very supportive of that lifestyle 😂 Where appropriate, dogs can also come along with me on little dog-friendly outings rather than spending their stay sitting at home. Evenings are generally much more relaxed, with dinner, a final walk or toilet break and lots of sofa snuggles. I want their time with me to feel like their own little holiday, while still keeping enough of their normal routine that they feel completely safe and at home ❤️ I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, so I treat every dog as if they were my own and make sure they receive lots of love, attention, and care throughout their stay. 🐾💕
