We like to send our new clients a brief questionnaire prior to their first booking. We will ask if your dog is good with other dogs and children. We do not allow dogs with aggressive or reactive behaviors or indoor potty accidents/marking. (Note: We don't let dogs on our human bed, but they are free to hop on furniture). ♡

Information Rachel & Ivan L. would like to know about your pet
Important: It is important that your dog is well-behaved around other dogs and children and will not nip, bite, or behave aggressively. Your dog must be fully potty trained (no pottying or marking indoors, pee pads, diapers, or belly bands). We will ask new clients to complete our questionnaire. We do not take pitbulls or GSD's and will deny these requests. Please provide enough food for your dog's stay. For the safety and cleanliness of our home, please ensure your dog's flea/tick preventative medication is up-to-date year-round including winter, along with rabies vaccine (both required). Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine *strongly* encouraged prior to arrival. The Bordetella vaccine is affordable and helps keep our dog and other boarders safe. Kennel cough is extremely contagious and can be contracted in non-kennel environments including dog parks. We look forward to caring for your pup. Thanks in advance for considering us! ♡
A typical day
Your pup can enjoy our fenced yard, neighborhood walks as my schedule allows, and enjoy the central air on a hot day! They always have fresh water, belly rubs, snuggling, toy bin, play time, and treats (as allowed). ♡

Hi! I'm Rachel, a compassionate dog mom to a chocolate lab named Charles. He is super sweet, gentle, and gets along with dogs of all ages and sizes. My husband & I work from home, so we're normally here all day. Our backyard is fully fenced. We are located in a woodsy neighborhood in Interlochen, close to US31, a short 10 minutes from Traverse City. We have a 7-year-old daughter. She loves dogs of all sizes, as she has grown up alongside our lab. I grew up with dogs and have extensive experience caring for them. Ivan and I are passionate about providing a great experience for both you and your pup. Your dog will be treated as a member of our family and handled with the best loving care. I am happy to provide daily updates and photos. The dogs that stay with us often do not want to leave and, when they return, they come racing up our steps! ♡ (Please make sure to read all sections below, especially the "Information Rachel & Ivan would like to know"). These hosts are very welcoming, especially including their own very hospitable, very laid back pup. Home and fenced yard well suited for visiting/ boarding pups. . . The hosts are prompt, informative communicators, including photos --our first pick in the Grand Traverse / Lelanau region.
We had a fantastic experience! They took such great care of our dog while we were away. Highly communicative and organized - they were so great with our dog and have an awesome set up for what they do!
Rachel and Ivan took great care of Luna! We were regularly updated with photos and info regarding Luna’s stay, and she clearly had a great time there. She will definitely be going back for future home stays.
I have only wonderful things to say about Rachel. She was very professional, kept us updated with our pet’s progress and photos, and obviously loves dogs. All of these factors gave us such peace of mind, which we needed as we hadn’t left Mabel in an unfamiliar house before. She did great, thanks to the tlc she received.
