Hi, I’m Rachel! I started out fostering dogs, which gave me a deep understanding of the care and attention pets require. As time went on, I transitioned into pet sitting, allowing me to continue nurturing my passion for animals and providing loving, reliable care for dogs of all kinds. Now, with over 5 years of experience, I specialize in understanding each dog's unique needs—whether it’s training puppies or providing extra care for senior pets. I also have a dog of my own. He is friendly and loves meeting new furry friends, but he also knows to respects personal space, making him a great companion for other dogs. I understand how important pets are—they're not just animals; they’re family, so I do everything I can to make your dog feel at home and care for them as I would my own. My home is just a 5-minute walk from Meridian Hill Park, my favorite spot for walks and outdoor play. I'm also close to S Street Dog Park and Shaw Dog Park, where I take the dogs for some fun and socialization (with owner approval). These nearby parks provide ample space for your pet to run and play, ensuring a great experience during their stay. I’m committed to creating a safe and loving environment for every dog in my care. Rachel was amazing with my pup!! Sadie is a very anxious dog and usually takes a while to warm up to people. Miraculously Sadie warmed up to Rachel within a few hours!! Schedule
My schedule is pretty flexible, I'm available on the weekdays after 2pm and all day on the weekends. This allows me to offer pet care services to clients in the local area. Your pet is welcome to hang out with me at home, or I can swing by for walks and playtime.

Safety, trust & environment
Dogs are welcome to hang out on the couch or dog beds, or can lay anywhere they feel comfortable. I also have a doggy cam to monitor them when I step out, so I can keep an eye on them at any time. I can even download the recordings and send them to you for peace of mind. My own dog is friendly and well-socialized, and I make sure new pets are introduced calmly and respectfully. With a park right next door, I love taking dogs on long walks, and to dog parks nearby for play and socializing (with your approval, of course!). If your pet has an exercise routine, I’ll make sure to stick to it so they stay happy and healthy. Whether I’m caring for them at my home or yours, I respect their routine, from giving medications to following dietary needs, I will keep you updated so you can rest easy knowing your pet feels safe and loved. Whether it’s for a day or a week, I make sure pets feel safe and well taken care of!

A typical day
A typical day would includes three walks in total: a morning, afternoon, and evening walk around Meridian Hill Park. Depending on the duration of their stay and with owner approval, I also take them on at least one trip to a dog park or another fun outing. They'll also be taken out regularly throughout the day (other than their walks) so they can potty as needed, and I’m happy to add additional walks if it's part of their exercise routine. Throughout the day, they’ll receive plenty of pets and attention from me, along with a variety of toys to keep them entertained. Their comfort and well-being are my top priorities!
