Animal Care with a Biologist Touch

A lifetime of love and know-how with dogs—big, small, and full of personality! I’ve cared for dogs since childhood, whether they belonged to friends, family, or were my own. I’ve raised three of my own pups, personally training and grooming each one. As a Wildlife Biologist by trade, I bring a professional level of animal knowledge to my care. My work has honed my skills in reading body language, understanding behavior, and providing safe, enriching environments for animals. I apply that same patience, observation, and respect to every dog I meet, ensuring they feel secure, understood, and loved. With both professional expertise and a genuine bond for every pup, I offer attentive, tailored care that meets each dog’s unique needs—whether that’s a high-energy playmate or a calm, gentle companion.

Always an absolute PLEASURE to board with the whole family. Especially Chubs. He gives the boys an outlet ton play with other dogs his age. My boys love staying at Rachel's, its their little vacation spot. Definitely recommend!

This was our first time leaving Nala with someone outside of family and Rachel was absolutely amazing. We felt comfortable the entire time we were away. She communicated often with updates, photos and videos. Nala had such a great time and I didn’t think she’d want to come back home. She came home calm due to all the activities Rachel did with her throughout the week. Thank you, Rachel! We look forward to bringing Nala back again soon.

Rachel was AMAZING. Admittedly, i was worried about leaving my dogs with someone that wasn't family but my worries were immediately quelled when we met for a Meet and Greet. The entire time we were gone, Rachel kept me updated with pictures and videos. The dogs adored her company and seemed to have made themselves at home very easily. Definitely someone I recommend anyone with anxiety over leaving their dogs behind for whatever reason. She is such a kind, wonderful and patient person, and you can see She loves what she does.

Baxter loved Rachel and Chubs! He practically runs out of the car when we arrive. He comes home happy and tired , we love it too.

Schedule

I work from home most of the week and can also cover weekends. My flexible schedule lets me take dogs out for walks and play breaks throughout the day—weather permitting, of course. If your pup stays with me past 6 PM, during the spring n summer we’ll head to the nearby park or dog park to stretch their legs and enjoy the cooler evening air.

Safety, trust & environment

About my home & care I live in a single-family home with a spacious, open backyard—perfect for supervised play. On those 90°+ Inland Empire days, we spend time indoors where it’s cool and comfy, with plenty of toys and room to relax. My resident pup Chubs is my golden retriever. He’s social and dog-savvy. I’m happy to schedule a free meet-and-greet at a local dog park, so we can confirm a good match before booking. Great for big and small dogs If your pup is small or prefers low-key company, I can create calm, separate spaces so they can settle in at their own pace. We take it slow to minimize any first-day jitters. Safety & requirements For everyone’s safety, I host dogs with no history of aggression or severe reactivity. I have an 9-year-old child who is at home when not at school; all dog–kid interactions are supervised and boundaries are respected. I treat every guest like my own while prioritizing structure, comfort, and safety.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day will depend on when your pup arrives. In the spring/summer, we’ll enjoy indoor activities until it cools down outside. Once the weather is pleasant, we can explore the trail right behind my house. For pups staying later, we’d head to the dog park for some tail-wagging fun or go to the local park about a mile from my house. On weekends, if your dog loves the outdoors, we might go hiking at Lake Perris or in the nearby mountains (just an hour away), maybe even enjoy a beach day at Del Mar in San Diego (given that it is ok with you of course).

Does your pet experience anxiety? Do they take any medications or follow a special feeding schedule? Are there specific behaviors that signal they’ve had enough stimulation? Do they have a favorite toy, blanket, or piece of clothing that helps them feel calm? The more I know, the better I can make your fur baby’s stay safe, comfortable, and fun.
