Pet care experience
Animal lover who misses having family pets around!
I have grown up always having pets in my home and helped to look after them from a young age (walks, baths, feeding, medication, visits to the vet). I mostly have experience looking after dogs, but have also looked after several friends' cats before. In my family we have had dogs of all sizes, from a small pug to a giant schnauzer, so I am confident caring for all dog breeds. We have also had puppies so I am happy caring for young pets too. I have cared for family pets with health problems that require regular medication and fostered rescue dogs with disabilities and minor behavioural problems. Though it is important for pets to be trained, I also consider them as part of the family and miss having cuddles with my dogs on the sofa! This is why I am interested in helping to care for other people's pets. I can mostly offer help on evenings and weekends, but please feel free to contact me about weekdays and longer periods of care and I will check if I can be available. Please note - I am from the UK and I am not fluent in Swedish yet but I am in the process of learning, so please feel free to write to me in Swedish if you prefer and I will do my best to write back to you in Swedish :)

Rachel was very communicative and responded to our messages quickly. She saw to all of our needs and treated our Doris with a lot of respect and kindness. Even though we made some changes to the pick up time, Rachel was able to accommodate for that as well. Would highly recommend Rachel!

Schedule
I am a PhD student so although I work full time hours I have some flexibility in my schedule. This means that I can work from home when needed and I can leave work for short periods in the day to walk a dog or check on a pet. I can also adjust my start and end times if necessary. As long as I have some time to plan ahead I can fit pet care into my schedule with no problems!

Safety, trust & environment
Although I do not have a garden, I live in an area where there are plenty of safe spaces to walk dogs and can easily take dogs out for toilet breaks from my ground floor apartment. I am confident walking both small and large dogs on a lead and walking multiple dogs at one time. I am happy to try to adapt my home to suit your pets needs where possible. For visiting pets in your home, as long as I can get there by bus, bike, walking or a combination then I am happy to help.
A typical day
I enjoy walking around Nydala and live close to Grössjön. It is also nice to walk along the river towards the city. If your dog has a favourite area to go for a walk please let me know! If they have a favourite toy I will gladly spend time playing with them, whether that is throwing a ball outside or playing with toys indoors. Or if they prefer their own space I am happy to leave them to play alone or sleep on the sofa while I keep an eye on them from a distance.

I want to make your pet feel at home so lots of information is good :) Details such as what they might be scared of or dislike, their favourite toy, favourite food and anything else you think it would be good for me to know! And of course it is important to have information such as any medication they need to take, food/treats they can and cannot have and how well they interact with other pets and people.
