My first priority in any home is to make sure the animal feels safe and relaxed. This includes feeding, playtime, and lots of love and attention while their owners are away. A clean litter box daily ensures they feel comfortable doing their business. I will make sure to follow your plan accordingly so your furry friend(s) feel as relaxed as they can be!

I would love to know the preferences or behaviors of the cat or dog prior to meeting them to ensure they feel comfortable and safe. I would also want to know if the dog interacts well with other dogs if we encountered them on walks or at the dog park.
A typical day
I would make sure to take the dog(s) on long walks and allow them to do lots of sniffing to mentally stimulate them. I have lots of great trails in my area and could try dog parks as well.

Pet care experience
I had a cat growing up named Pockets who was my best friend. Now I have adopted my sweet boy Tomás who is 3 years old and full of energy and spunk! Since I am a teacher, I have off during the summer and holidays and care for Rover clients in the area. I also have done cat-sitting for neighbors and friends from time-to-time.

This was my first time hiring a cat sitter so I was a bit nervous about the whole process, but with Rachel everything went smoothly. She was very personable and attentive to details when she came for a meet-and-greet. She was prompt to answer messages before and during our trip, and asked questions as needed. We enjoyed getting the photos and updates via Rover cards! In addition to cat care, she took care of some household tasks such as moving trash and recycling bins to and from the curb. We are pleased to have found a capable and reliable cat sitter in Rachel!
Our elderly cat, Karina, is typically is afraid of strangers, but she was comfortable with Rachel and even approached her for pets and attention. Thanks so much, Rachel, for taking great care of her and for your patience with her new litter box habits!
