Availability
I currently work the usual 8 - 4 desk job, but have flexibility in what time I go into the office. I am happy to stop by in the morning before work or in the evenings. I can only do midday check-ins on weekends.

Safety, trust & environment
I take safety very seriously, not only for the animals, but for my clients and their home. Upon arrival each visit, I will check for any signs of possible tampering. I was a Resident Advisor in college and am currently an EMT, so I am trained to look for any small details. When I leave after a visit, I will ensure all doors and windows are locked, and any lights are set on or off depending on the client's wishes (ex. lights on a timer). If there is any visible packages or mail, I will bring that inside as well. For pet safety specifically, I will ensure that all litter boxes are cleaned daily, clean all food and water bowls, and check for any signs of health issues while I give them affection and play time. I plan to take photos of pets during visits, so all clients can keep up with their pets each day.
Information Rachel B. would like to know about your pet
I always prefer owners are very honest with me. If your pet needs medication, please tell me up front so I can best prepare to take care of them. If they have any special diets or needs, include that too!
A typical day
With dogs, I think a fun day always includes a nice walk to get some outdoor time! If available, I include playing fetch and general running and playing in a fenced in yard. Indoors, fun includes belly rubs and playing with toys provided by the dog’s owner. With cats, a fun day is always different. Some cats love to snuggle on the couch and that’s enough for them. Others have higher energy and prefer a laser point to chase, a toy on a string, some cat nip, etc.

Pet care experience
I've loved cats (and dogs, but unfortunately the cats rule the house and have vetoed a puppy sibling) for as long as I can remember, being cat mom to 4 on my own, and grew up with 1 cat sibling. I've experienced all of the trials and tribulations of owning cats, including litter box needs (finding the right litter, frequent cleaning, odor fighting, etc.), food needs (wet vs. dry, specialized diets, treats, etc.), medication administration, and special needs. One of my current cat babies is both blind and deaf, so I have learned how to make the home safe, fun, and comfortable for her and her cat siblings. Beyond my own cats, I was also a volunteer foster and case manager for the Humane Rescue Alliance during COVID. I opened my home to foster cats and dogs of all ages and breed, as well as helped other foster parents through the process as their case manager.

Reviews

Rachel always takes such good care of Rosé. There is so much love between the two of them! I always feel safe knowing Rachel will take care of Rosé when I’m away.

As always, Rachel takes care of Rosé like she’s her own! I feel obligated to go on vacation so they can spend time together lmao Rachel is 100% our favorite!

Rachel was amazing to have drop in and care for my cat. I knew from the minute we started our virtual meet and greet my cat was in good hands. I couldn’t recommend rachel enough. She gave me the peace of mind i needed to enjoy my vacation!

She went above and beyond! I will definitely be booking again for future trips.
