Safety, trust & environment
I specialise in reactive dogs so checking my environment is second nature to me! Whilst out on walks I constantly check our surroundings and take appropriate measures to make sure everyone is feeling safe. I don't currently bring pets to my home as I have an elderly dog, but I follow all safety requests at yours when picking up or returning your dog :)

Pet care experience
I specialise in walking worried, anxious, and reactive dogs—the ones who don’t always find the world (or other dogs) easy and need more support on a walk. I’m a force free professional dog trainer working with therapy and assistance dogs during the week, so your dog will always be handled with skill, compassion, and a strong understanding of behaviour—not just managed, but genuinely supported. I offer Saturday only walks for a small number of dogs on an individual basis, which keeps everything calm, enjoyable, and low-pressure. Thoughtful walks tailored to each individual dog. If you’ve struggled to find someone you trust, or you’ve been told your dog is “too much”, this is exactly the kind of dog I work with. I’m very good at what I do, and I don’t say that lightly. Whether your dog is reactive, anxious, struggles in groups, pulls heavily on the lead, or simply finds the world overwhelming, they’ll be met with calm handling, patience, and clear communication at all times. Walks are always adapted to the dog in front of me, whether that means quiet routes, extra space from triggers, or just allowing them to move at their own pace. I take my time to learn each dog and make sure they thoroughly enjoy their walk. Because I only take a small number of Saturday clients, I’m able to give each dog proper time, consistency, and attention, and build a real working relationship with them rather than just turning up for a walk. If that sounds like what you’ve been looking for, I’d love to hear from you and see if we’re a good fit.

Reviews

I found Rachel on Rover and her profile immediately stood out, and she has genuinely been the perfect match for my anxious, rehomed 2-year-old cocker spaniel, Rolo. Rolo loves other dogs but can be very anxious around new people, and Rachel was incredibly patient, calm, and kind with him from the very beginning. She never pushed him to interact, instead letting him come to her in his own time, which made such a difference for him. We met for a free meet-and-greet walk where she took time to ask thoughtful questions and came fully prepared with things like towels and dog poo bags. She instinctively knew how to handle Rolo even before I had explained everything in detail, which immediately reassured me that she really understands dogs like him. She then looked after him overnight ahead of our week-long holiday at the end of May. Once again, she was fantastic. She welcomed him into her home, briefed her 3-year-old daughter (who was amazing and so gentle with him), and gave Rolo lots of care, patience, and attention. He even learned a new trick while he was there! I was very nervous about leaving him for the first time away from home, but Rachel kept me updated throughout with regular photos and messages, which really helped reassure me. Rolo did have a slightly unsettled night with some barking at new noises, but Rachel handled it so calmly and kindly, even letting him sleep near her so he could settle. She still managed to walk him the next morning before we picked him up at 8:30am. Rachel is brilliant. I feel incredibly lucky to have found her and now feel completely at ease knowing Rolo is in such safe, understanding hands. I honestly can’t recommend her enough—she’s like a dog whisperer and a perfect furry godmother for anxious dogs like mine.
I can’t recommend Rachel highly enough. She has been working with us and our reactive dog Cooper for almost a year now and his progress is remarkable. She is SO much more than just a dog walker. Her skill in understanding, reading and training positive behaviour to the dog is incredible. She is highly engaged and focused and you can be sure her entire attention is on your dog during the walk, ensuring their safety and happiness. Cooper adores her and loves their time together. You honestly couldn’t make a better decision for you and your dog…I could go on and on!!
Rachael has been walking and boarding our dog since she was a pup for 7 years now, she is fantastic, knowledgable and attentive, where every need of our dog is met, I would thoroughly recommend Rachael 100%
Rach has walked our boy since he was a puppy. It’s more than ‘just’ a walk though. Shes trained in canine behaviour and enrichment and so he gets mental stimulated as well as physically. If I could post a video here I would, he even has a special ‘whoo whoo whoo’ excited bark he reserves for her. I’m pretty protective of him and I worry when I walk him about other dogs but I 100% trust Rach and never give it a second thought as I know she’s got all the tricks and knowledge to keep him safe and happy.
