Highlights
Pet care experience
Local Pet Sitter
I’ve cared for my family’s cat and dog for about 4 years, giving me hands on experience with feeding, playtime, walks, cleaning and keeping the pets on their routines. I’m comfortable learning each pet’s individual needs and making sure they are safe, happy and cared for while their owners are away.
Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
Your dog’s safety is my top priority during every walk. I’ll pay close attention to their behavior, surroundings, and comfort level while keeping them securely leashed. I’m happy to follow your instructions about your dog’s routine, walking preferences, and any specific needs. I want every walk to be safe, comfortable, and enjoyable for your dog.
Ratings and reviews
Rachael was absolutely perfect the 2 times I've had her watch my cats. I have 2 cats 1 male Toe-Bias and 1 female Houdini. The 1st time I boarded my male cat Toe-Bias with Rachael at her house due to him having seperation anxiety while I was on a short trip. Houdini was fine with the automated feeder and litter box for the 3 days. Rachael took her time with Toe-Bias giving him little pets throughout the 1st night to reassure him someone was there. By day 2 he was following her around and taking naps next to her like he's lived there for weeks. Rachael gave me updates on his progress daily and I knew I had nothing to worry about. He got so comfortable there I let him finish out the week with her since they had a good grooming pattern down. (Toe-Bias never let's me brush him for more than 2 minutes at a time but with Rachael he wouldn't budge and she got a few good mattes out). When I came to pick him up you would've thought I was the stranger and not the one that's taken car of him for 7+ years!🤣🤣 Toe-Bias is chatty so went up to her bedroom door to say goodbye, it was adorable! For the second time I was having work done at my house so needed someone to watch both cats, just checking in on them during the construction while I was away for a week. I gave Rachael the run down that she only needed to put out food, refill the water fountain if low and cleaning the litter boxes since they would most likely be in hiding from the construction crew being in and out. While doing that Rachael still made sure to get eyes on them and reported back if they were eating or not. At one point Houdini escaped my apartment and was roaming the building while the construction crew were doing work. She's named Houdini for a reason. Rachael called me and I coordinated with my neighbors if they've seen her in the halls. Rachael was going up and down the hallway with treats to lure Houdini out but I told her to just leave my door open with a can of food in the crack and she'll come back on her own. Rachael didn't want to leave without being sure Houdini was back inside safe so she spent some time with her fur-few Toe-Bias. I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of jealous that he cuddles with her much more than me and goes to her when she calls. Houdini crept back in for some nibbles and Rachael was able to secure the door before leaving. When I got back Toe-Bias had all the stories to tell about how much he likes Rachael. Houdini was perfectly content that she had a new victim for her antics. All in all Rachael is great with communication and adapting with the unexpected. I've seen her around dogs too and she just brings out a sence of calm even with the most wild ones. All pluses in my book!
