I have a ton of flexibility during the week, so pet care fits easily into my schedule. I love walks I can get to on foot, but I’m also happy to drive or hop on the CTA for visits a little farther away.

About Rachael F.
Safety, trust & environment
When I’m in someone else’s home, I treat it with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. I follow each pet’s routine exactly as instructed and make sure doors and gates are always secure before we head out or come back in. On walks, I stay alert to keep pets safe and comfortable whether that means avoiding busy areas, giving them extra time to sniff, or bringing water on hot days. My goal is to make every visit calm, safe, and full of trust (and maybe a little fun, too).
Information Rachael F. would like to know about your pet
I like to know if there are any behaviors you’re working on—whether you’re building good habits or trying to stop certain ones. It helps to know if your dog likes rough play, has any triggers, or needs special handling on walks. I’m very patient so if it takes a while for them to calm down before heading out, or if I need to stand still until they stop pulling, I’m happy to wait. I’ll always match your dog’s pace to keep things consistent, safe, and positive.
A typical day
A typical day with me means walks full of sniffs, sunshine, and tail wags. I let dogs explore at their own pace- sniffing every tree is part of the adventure. We might play fetch, practice a few tricks, or just hang out for belly rubs and company. I’m big on patience, praise, and making sure every dog feels safe, happy, and a little spoiled by the end of our time together.

Pet care experience
Humans and dogs have been homies for thousands of years, and I think that bond is one of the coolest things about our relationship. I’ve never had a life without a dog (or two) by my side, and I love getting to know each one’s unique personality. They’re all little weirdos in the best way. I’m not a certified trainer, but I’m always more patient than the dogs. I build real relationships based on trust, understanding, and plenty of treats. I’ve worked from home my entire adult life, so I’ve spent years giving my own dogs constant love and attention, and now I get to offer that same care to pups whose people can’t be home all day.

Reviews
My little stubborn doggie (Shih-zu) loves Rachael and is always excited to see her! She is thoughtful, kind and trustworthy with your little fella! She's a catch!
Rachael has watched my German Shepherd multiple times, and I always feel completely at ease knowing she’s in such good hands. She takes incredible care of her; she is loving but also firm, making sure my dog follows the same rules and routines I do at home. She’s consistent about things like having her sit before getting a treat, lay down after coming in from outside, and take treats nicely. She’s even helped train her to be quiet before going outside, which is a huge improvement, since my dog used to get so vocal and excited the moment I grabbed the leash! She also goes above and beyond by taking her on long walks, which is especially important for a big dog. I couldn’t ask for someone more trustworthy, attentive, and caring to look after my fur baby!
I’ve known Rachael for about 17 years, and she’s always been amazing with animals. She’s a natural when it comes to pets — patient, caring, and attentive. My cats, who are usually shy around new people, warmed up to her right away and now go straight to her lap when she visits. She’s great at reading animals’ personalities and making them feel comfortable, whether they’re shy or social. She’s also super reliable and communicates clearly about any updates or issues. I’d trust her completely with my pets!
Rachael is great with dogs and has a natural sense for how to care for them. She’s patient, attentive, and really understands what pets need to feel comfortable and happy. I’ve seen how well she takes care of her own dogs, and I think she’d be a great fit for Rover.
