Pet care experience

We love all dogs, big or small!

We lost our 17 year old bubba boy in December 24 and the house feels a little (very) empty without him. We heard about the Rover App and thought it would be perfect for us as we are huge dog people but aren’t quite ready to have another dog of our own. We have experience looking after senior dogs and understand their needs. We also have experience with big dogs as we have grown with Alsatians/GSD.

Rachael and Fran were absolutely amazing. They’re genuine dog people who really understand and love big dogs, which made all the difference for me. From the moment I left Arnie with them, I didn’t worry once because I knew he was in great hands. Arnie had a fantastic time, was clearly well cared for, and came home happy and relaxed. It’s such a relief finding sitters you can trust completely with your dog. I would 100% use Rachael and Fran again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, caring dog sitters.

Stanley had a great stay with Rachael and Fran. They provided him with all the love and care he could need while we were away. We can’t recommend them enough and will definitely be using them again for Stanley!

We are both fortunate enough to be able to hybrid work and are therefore flexible to make sure that someone is home on week days. On weekends we like to go on long walks and pub lunches! We would love to have the company of your dog whether it be overnight or just doggy day care!

Safety, trust & environment

How we care for your pet will be dependent on their needs as well as their behaviour. We have been used to having a 17 year old collie having full roam of the house including cuddles on the sofa! We have a back garden which you can see in our pictures however we have put ‘unfenced’ as there are some sneaky gaps in the bushes! We always go into the garden with our 4 legged visitors to keep an eye on them, especially the inquisitive ones! We’re lucky enough to live a 5 minute walk to the canal as well as local walks such a Etherow park and Werneth Low. We are the go-to dog sitters for our friends and family and their dogs always settle into our home and surroundings quickly. We are aware that every dog has their own little personality and we think it’s important that we give them space and time to adapt to new surroundings.

A typical day

Walks, playtime, mental stimulation games, cuddles on the sofa and of course… enabling the zoomies!!! Even though our dog was 17, he was still full of beans and loved to play!
