Pet care experience

College Athlete & Pet Lover

I've been dog sitting for friends and family for several years and have grown very comfortable caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, ages, and personalities. Spending time with dogs is something I genuinely enjoy, and I always make it a priority to ensure they feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away. Whether it's going for walks, playing outside, providing companionship, sticking to a feeding schedule, or simply giving extra attention and affection, I'm happy to adapt to each pet's unique needs. As an active college athlete, I have plenty of energy for long walks and playtime, but I'm also patient and attentive with dogs who prefer a calmer environment. My goal is always to provide reliable care and give pet owners peace of mind knowing their pets are in good hands.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

My experience caring for pets comes from raising my own two rescue dogs. When my family first brought them home, they were nervous, hesitant around people, and not always easy to handle. Like many rescue animals, they needed time, patience, and consistency before they felt comfortable in their new environment. Over the years, I have helped them build confidence through daily routines, training, exercise, and plenty of love and attention. Watching them grow from uncertain rescue dogs into friendly, affectionate companions has taught me a great deal about animal care. It showed me that every pet has a unique personality and that building trust often takes patience and understanding. Today, caring for my dogs is a regular part of my life. I feed them a combination of wet and dry food twice a day, take them on walks throughout the day whenever my schedule allows, and make sure they get the exercise, attention, and affection they need to stay happy and healthy. One of my dogs also experiences seasonal allergies and requires medication during certain times of the year, so I am comfortable following care instructions and administering medications when needed. Because of these experiences, I understand the responsibility that comes with caring for someone else's pet. Whether a pet is energetic and playful, shy and reserved, young or old, I strive to provide a safe, comfortable environment where they feel secure, cared for, and loved while their owners are away.

I can’t recommend Preston enough! He has been caring for dogs/cats for years and has two dogs of his own, so he truly understands the love, patience, and attention they need. He’s incredibly kind, responsible, and has a natural connection with animals. He’s also an excellent communicator—he’s reliable, responsive, and makes sure pet owners always feel informed and comfortable while they’re away. Any pet would be in great hands with him, and I would trust him with my own pets without hesitation!

Preston was a great sitter to our two dogs. He sent us regular updates with pictures. Our one dog is quite timid and his patience seemed to pay off as she fell in love with him. We will definitely use again. Thank you!

Schedule

Pet care is something I take seriously, and I have a schedule that allows me to provide plenty of attention and flexibility. I work part-time as a lifeguard, which gives me the ability to take breaks throughout the day to check on pets, take dogs for walks, provide potty breaks, feed pets, or attend to any other needs they may have. In addition, I am generally available during mornings, evenings, and overnight hours, allowing me to spend quality time with pets and make sure they receive the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. Whether your pet needs an active companion, a consistent routine, or simply someone to keep them company, I have the time and dedication to provide reliable, attentive care.

Before caring for a pet, I always make it a priority to learn as much as possible about their routine, personality, and any special needs they may have. This helps me provide consistent care and make sure each pet feels safe and comfortable while their owner is away. I like to know details such as feeding schedules, walk or litter box routines, favorite toys and activities, energy levels, and how they typically behave around new people or other animals. It’s also important for me to be aware of any medical needs, allergies, medications, or triggers that could affect their comfort or safety.
