Dog-lover experienced with rescues

I live in central Cambridge close to midsummer common with my rescue dog, Casper. Casper gets on just fine with other dogs but is nervous around humans. Because I have experience with a scared rescue, I can offer a lot of security that is otherwise challenging. My garden okie fully enclosed and high-fenced, and a double-door system is in place for safety (one door shuts before the other opens). Dogs typically have free access between inside and outside all day whilst the weather is warmer. Weekend activities would typically include a long walk down the river or the Magog Hills, followed by a relaxing afternoon and an evening stroll. We are very much used to dogs having run of the house, so rest-assured your furry friends can make themselves as much at home as they would like. Please do feel free to pack your pet’s favourite toys, bed or blanket. We can provide water bowls. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions!

We are so incredibly grateful to have found Poppy! Since she has extensive experience with rescue dogs, she was the perfect match for our highly anxious Bal. From the very first moment, Poppy gained our trust, and we never looked back. Poppy has an amazing ability to read a dog’s unspoken language; she anticipated Bal’s needs before we even had to mention them. We had total peace of mind throughout our entire holiday. When we picked Bal up, she was not only happy but visibly braver and more confident. We know she’s going to miss Poppy and her sweet dog, Casper, dearly. If you’re looking for a caregiver who truly 'gets' dogs, look no further!

We cannot recommend Poppy Highly enough!! From the moment we dropped ‘Chewy’ off to the moment we picked him up, we were had every peace of mind that our little boy was in Great hands. Regular updates throughout both stays and even a couple of photos to reassure us of how comfortable he was. We will definitely use Poppy and Aaron again if we need a dog sitter for our little boy! Very reasonably priced and Highly Recommended 5 ***** 👌👍 Thank you Poppy & Aaron 🙏

A typical day

Depending on your dog’s preferences, we would typically on a weekend aim for a good 2+ hour walk in the late morning, along the river or in the hills or forest. This would be followed by a slightly shorter walk in the evenings. There is also a chance that we may head up to our holiday home on the Norfolk coast for a seaside trip! We offer lots of play time, and most importantly lots of love.
