Understanding household expectations is equally important, including home access, security preferences, and any care instructions related to the pet’s environment. Clear communication upfront allows me to tailor each visit thoughtfully and ensures both pets and owners feel confident and at ease from the start.

A typical day is built around each pet’s individual routine, energy level, and comfort. I start by checking in calmly, making sure pets feel secure before moving into feeding, medication (if needed), and routine care. I follow established schedules closely to maintain consistency and reduce stress. Activities vary depending on the pet. For cats, this may include interactive play, brushing, window time, or simply quiet companionship. Dogs enjoy structured walks, enrichment activities, and relaxed play suited to their energy level. For senior pets, the focus is on comfort, gentle movement, and attentive monitoring. Throughout each visit, I provide companionship and observation, making sure pets are relaxed and content rather than overstimulated. I end each visit with a reset of the pet’s space, including tidying feeding areas and litter or habitats, so they’re comfortable until the next check-in. My goal is always to combine enrichment with calm, attentive care, ensuring pets feel happy, safe, and well supported while their owners are away.
