When I’m booked for house sitting, that booking is reserved for one household at a time. I don’t build chains of other pet-care jobs around your stay. I stay overnight and spend the majority of my time with your dogs, structuring my day around their normal routine — walks, meals, medication, company, play, rest and whatever they are accustomed to at home. The aim is calm, consistent care rather than fitting your dogs around a busy schedule elsewhere.

Safety, trust & environment

Being trusted with somebody’s dogs, home, keys and privacy is a responsibility I take extremely seriously. Before every new booking, I arrange a meet & greet so we can go through routines, behaviour, feeding, medication, walks, security, emergency contacts and anything else I need to know. I follow the household instructions provided, treat your home with respect and keep personal information and access details discreet. I also have experience with rescue, nervous and reactive dogs, including first-hand experience of living with an adopted dog with significant reactivity and resource guarding. I understand the importance of recognising triggers, maintaining boundaries and never forcing interaction. Your home remains occupied during the stay and you’ll receive regular updates while you’re away. I hold my own business and pet-care insurance for additional peace of mind.

Information Phillip F. would like to know about your pet

Every dog has their own personality, preferences and routine, so the more I understand beforehand, the better I can care for them. Please tell me about their normal routine, feeding, walks, medication, sleeping arrangements and any health requirements. It’s also important that I know about any reactivity, resource guarding, separation issues, fear of unfamiliar people, aggression or bite history, escape risks, unreliable recall, difficulties around other dogs or handling sensitivities. None of these automatically means I cannot help. I have experience with dogs who require more individual understanding and patience. I simply need an honest picture beforehand so I can decide whether I’m the right person for your dogs and make the stay as safe, calm and predictable as possible.

A typical day

A typical day is built around your dogs’ normal routine, rather than imposing a new one on them. If they are used to breakfast at a certain time, particular walks, time in the garden, medication, afternoon naps, evenings on the sofa or sleeping in a specific place, I aim to keep those familiar patterns in place. I spend the majority of the day present at the home, providing company and supervision alongside walks, play, enrichment and plenty of relaxed downtime. Some dogs want lots of interaction; others are happiest simply having somebody nearby while they sleep. I adapt to the individual dog rather than treating every booking the same. You’ll also receive regular photo/video updates so you can see how everything is going while you’re away.

House Sitting | Above & Beyond Care

Pet care experience

House sitting from £95 per night — one household at a time. Cock-a-Hoop is designed for owners looking for highly dependable, individual house sitting with their dogs cared for in the comfort of their own home. When I accept your booking, your household is my booking. I deliberately reserve each house-sitting booking for one household rather than building other pet-care jobs around it. I stay overnight, spend the majority of my time with your dogs and structure the booking around their normal routine. ⭐ ROVER PROOF: Star Sitter • 22 verified 5★ reviews • 7 repeat owners • two-year professional zero-cancellation record. 🐾 CARE: My aim is for your trip to change as little as possible for your dogs. I follow their normal feeding times, walks, sleeping arrangements, medication requirements and household routine. You’ll receive regular photo/video updates throughout the stay. Experience includes rescue and nervous dogs • reactive dogs requiring more individual handling • dogs needing patience with unfamiliar people • senior dogs • medication and individual routines • multi-dog households • dogs who are much happier remaining at home than going into boarding. My understanding of rescue and reactive dogs is also personal. I previously owned and lived with an adopted dog who was highly reactive and displayed resource guarding. That gave me first-hand experience of the importance of patience, predictability, boundaries, routine and understanding the individual dog in front of you. A meet & greet before the booking gives us time to discuss everything properly and gives your dogs the opportunity to meet me before you travel. 🏡 HOME & PRIVACY: House sitting also means being trusted with somebody’s home, keys and privacy. I take that responsibility seriously. Your property remains occupied, agreed household routines can be maintained and I aim to leave your home clean and orderly for your return. I also have practical gardening and property-care experience. During suitable bookings, particularly longer stays, I’m happy to help with small agreed house or garden tasks where useful — always with your dogs and their care as the priority. This is the “Above & Beyond” part of the service that previous clients have particularly appreciated. 🔒 ONE HOUSEHOLD: I would rather provide an exceptional service to one family than divide my attention between several households. When you secure my availability, I can properly settle into your dogs’ routine, spend meaningful time with them and provide the consistency many owners specifically want from house sitting. You’re not booking a couple of brief visits fitted around several other jobs — you’re securing my availability for your household. 💷 PRICING: House sitting starts from £95 per night. £95 is my starting rate rather than a fixed price for every booking. Additional dogs, more involved care requirements and other factors affecting the booking are charged accordingly, so your final rate reflects the individual care and responsibility involved. My service is best suited to owners who place a high value on reliability, individual attention, continuity and peace of mind and are specifically looking for a professional house-sitting service. I hold my own business, property and pet-care insurance for additional peace of mind. 🎨 EXTRA: Every completed stay also includes a complimentary custom digital portrait of your dog as a thank-you for trusting me with them. If this sounds like the level of care you’re looking for, send me your dates along with some information about your dogs and their normal routine. If I’m available and we appear to be a good fit, the next step is a meet & greet.

Phill did a great job looking after our two dogs. Pre our holiday Phil came and met dogs and then stopped in again just before we left. On the day of our departure Phil came early to ensure all set. Dogs warmed to him straight away and that includes our rescue who can be tricky with some people and especially men. Daily updates, comms and pictures sent throughout our 2 week holidays. Not only did Phil do a great job with the dogs but kept himself busy doing some painting around the house and in the garden painting our walls and steps which was great as jobs that have been meaning to do and now all done! All without asking Phil to do. House was also very clean with Phil doing a clean before we got home. Despite getting home in the early hours Phil stayed and waited for us to get home to make sure all good! We will definitely use Phil again and would recommend!

Well what can I say we had never used a dog/cat/ house sitter before but Phillip was first class he put us at ease straight away and Alvis our Labrador was immediately happy with him and seemed to have an instant connection.Phillip sent us daily updates with photos or short videos which was lovely and we could tell Alvis was a happy dog. When we returned home Phillip had not only cleaned the house but had stripped his bedding and placed in the washing machine, he had also done a couple of small jobs in the garden without being asked. We would definitely use Phillip again and would happily recommend him to anybody looking for a first class dog/ house sitter

Phillip made the process really easy from start to finish. He helped us out with a late booking and responded to all messages really quickly. Phillip came round to meet us and put me at ease immediately. He was great with our rescue dog; she can be a bit tricky with men at first, but he has experience with rescue dogs and won her over. We had daily updates from Phillip about the animals and the bits he was doing to help us, such as weeding our garden and even jet-washing the patio. He has also made my daughter some lovely artwork of all our animals. We came home to a clean and tidy house and our animals have clearly been looked after. We will use Phillip again and would recommend him.
