Long walks daily, work from home!
We’re a large, friendly family with 4 children and our fluffy Cavapoo, Arlo, aged 3.5. He loves to have a playmate! Philippa works from home and Elisa is a teacher so we’re both around during school holidays. Large house and secure garden, big enough to run around in. We live on the Worth Way, East Grinstead, so 3-5 mile countryside walks are on our doorstep, and part of our daily routine. Can also accommodate shorter walks for dogs who need less exercise than Arlo! Our children split their time between us and their other parents, so there are days when we have an adult-only house if your dog prefers grown-up company.

Philippa took great care of our dog during the day. He came home happy and tired.
I have used kennels in the past but as Jess is now older and very accustomed to home comforts, I decided a ‘home stay’ would mean that I could go on holiday without having to worry about her being locked up for hours or becoming distressed. Her stay with Philippa could not have gone better. From the very start she was very much part of the family and allowed to lounge on rugs or potter about in the enclosed garden. Philippa also took her on daily walks. When I collected her she was calm and had an air of having had an excellent holiday herself! I would heartily recommend a stay with Philippa.

Schedule
Philippa works flexibility from home with regular breaks for dog-care during the day. Depending on daylight and weather, each day includes a 3-5 mile walk and plenty of free time for dogs in the garden. Our dog sits at Philippa’s feet while she working, and other dogs are free to do the same, or find a comfy spot elsewhere downstairs. School runs between East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells: between 7.15 and 8.30am, and 3.30 and 5.30 can be used to collect/drop off other dogs if the location works. Weekends are busy with children’s hobbies but an adult is usually at home and we’re happy to take other dogs out with us where we can.

Safety, trust & environment
Arlo enjoys the company of other dogs. We have a secure back garden and astro turf so that dogs (and kids) can enjoy the garden all year round - mud free! Arlo sleeps in an open crate downstairs in the office overnight, but we can accommodate other dogs’ sleeping preferences, although we would prefer not to have them in our bedroom. We have an internal front porch, which means we can open the front door without worrying about Arlo and other dogs escaping on to the main road. Arlo is walked both on and off the lead, but we would follow owners’ wishes about walking. While our children might be present while we take care of your dog, they won’t be responsible for your dog’s care.

A typical day
Our dogs can play together in the garden and enjoy lots of attention in between! We’ll make sure they get a good walk in the local countryside - plenty of sniffing opportunities and space to stretch their legs.
