I work-from-home most days, with some evening shifts as a person trainer at the local Mountain View YMCA. I've had plenty of experiences with dogs, managing, and introducing them to others. I understand the need to insure proper management: Canella was heavily leash reactive, required constant full attention on any walks, esp. around areas with a lot of dogs, but she was amazing in the parks. And on the other side of the spectrum, Hachi was great on a leash, but very male-dominate and had issues at a dog park, requiring me to walk them independently, leading to a lot of work (hence the reprieve!).

As somebody who has told other sitters multiple times of behaviors only have to have the sitters "trust with their gut" and gotten in trouble(!), I know what it's like to have sitters not *listen the them* about the behaviors of their dogs. I assure you: I'm not one to take a dog's behavior for granted. I loved my pets, even called them my "kids," while at the same time, I was very aware they are my pets and my responsibility to keep an eagle's eye on them at all times. I watched my kids like a hawk on every single walk (i.e. no browsing on my phone) -- I will do the same for yours.

Information Philip Z. would like to know about your pet
Is your dog house and kennel trained? Are their vaccinations up to date? Who's their vet? Do they chew on things? How are they when left alone in the house? Do they have any medical needs? Any favorite toys, activities, or treats?
A typical day
I love to take your furkids for long walks downtown (less than a mile from me), stopping off at many areas dogs love to check out. My area is full of dogs, giving your fur kid plenty of places to sniff and check out. On the weekends, I have a Jeep I can load up your kid(s) and take them to an (enclosed!) park to throw the ball around -- I love loads of tennis balls!

Pet care experience
I'm a life-long cat person and dog-dad since 2010. During my dog-dad days, I've raised three large dogs from puppy/shelter to their passing -- the most recent being Canella who had past in Oct '25 at a prime age of 12. I'm now taking a reprieve from my own pets, but figured why not use Rover to help others out there.
Reviews

I highly recommend this dog sitter! They were incredibly communicative throughout the entire stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. They also have a fantastic space for dogs; my pup was in absolutely great spirits when I picked them up. I will definitely be booking with them again!

Great comminication, easy going with drop off and pick up timing, and our dog was in capable hands for our 5 day trip. She even got to go on a little trip of her own with Philip and Ryan and spent lots of time outside.

We couldn’t have asked for better dog sitters! Philip and Ryan went above and beyond in every way, making sure our fur baby was not only well cared for but also happy, comfortable, and loved while we were away. Our senior dog is blind and has diabetes which means she requires some special attention, and they handled her needs with care and ease. We received regular updates, photos, and thoughtful communication that gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear from the start how much they genuinely care about animals. We would trust them again without hesitation and highly recommend them to anyone looking for an exceptional dog sitter. They truly go the extra mile!

Phil was amazing!
