Hi! I'm Pete, and I am a highly experienced dog/pet-sitter from Ireland and have been living in Berlin for the last 6 years. I grew up with a dog in my family (King Charles Spaniel) and was its primary care taker/trainer, and since leaving home at 18, I have been routinely looking after dogs through friends, family and recommendations. I have looked after dogs of all sizes as well as dogs with separation anxiety. Through my experience looking after many different breeds/sizes etc I've developed a lot of knowledge and training techniques that can help make your dog's stay as comfortable as possible. In general, but especially when pet-sitting I am highly organized and attentive and ready to attend to any special needs/preferences. Above all, my priority is to make sure your pet is comfortable in their time away from you/their regular homes and to ensure you are updated regularly during their stay.

Peter took such good care of our Gonzales! She is a shy dog but she felt very confortable with him, they walked in the forest daily. We received daily picts and updates, and we felt very assured that she was in great hands. I highly reccommend him, and we will definitely leave her with him when we need to travel again. Thanks again for taking such good care of her!

Meine, nicht ganz einfache, Lillifee hat sich sehr wohl gefühlt. Sie ist ängstlich, und mag eigentlich keine fremden Menschen. Beim verabschieden ist sie immer wieder zu Peter und hat sich streicheln lassen. Sehr liebevoll Betreuung. Zwischendurch habe ich Nachrichten bekommen. So das ich immer beruhigt war. Ich würde Peter jederzeit wieder einen meiner Hunde anvertrauen.

Schedule
I work from home which means I am available to take your dog for walk before work, once on my lunch break and anytime after work. I am a very outdoorsy person and for the most part prefer a serene nature-exploration in Berlin's parks/Brandenburg over a social party weekend in Berlin. Overall, I enjoy the regularity and ritual of daily walks which is conducive for pet care.

Safety, trust & environment
I live on the first floor of an apartment building and have plenty of indoor space (95 m2) for your pet to feel comfortable. As already mentioned, Plänterwald is right around the corner so it feels like my backyard. I have two safe balconies which each get around 4 hours of sun per day. Our building and area is quiet, safe and neighborly. There are plenty of other dogs in the building. My primary aim when welcoming a new pet is to build trust with the animal and avoid any unnecessary confusion for them. Establishing clear communication is a priority. I am also willing to take care of your pet in your own home if that is preferred.
A typical day
Depending on your own dog's specific needs of course, I am usually taking the dogs for a walk in the forest or if they are more high energy dogs I can take them to Königsheide for a longer day of walks and some games!
