Professional Trainer & Handler

As a professional dog trainer, I get to help people have deeper relationships and more fun with their pets. It’s truly an honor to bring joy to people and dogs. When training dogs, my goal is to see or develop a balanced and confident dog. A dog that understands what to expect when they go into the world is a dog that is happy and confident in their environment.

Schedule

I am a professional dog trainer so my full day is dedicated and devoted to the animals in my care. I often enjoy early morning walks at the river with my off leash pack, then I work and train dogs through the day.

Safety, trust & environment

1) Safety First: animal welfare is the #1 priority, full stop. 2) Relationship Second: training does not being until trust is built between animal and handler. This is very important - I will never push the animal faster than they are ready to move or faster than the trust and relationship will support. 3) Goals Third: after we ensure safety and build a trusting relationship, we can prioritize the client’s goals for training. Training is done through positive incentive based learning following science-backed principles of learning theory.

Pets

A typical day

We love to hike around the river, go for a paddle board, or play a good game of tug! When we’re not training individual dogs or letting the dogs stretch out by the river, we’ll often take the pack to a grassy field for a pack down-stay while I catch up on reading and client notes!
