I work full time during the school year. My kids and I walk our dogs around the block every morning before leaving the house. We are gone from 7:15 to 4:00 during school days. When we return home we take a walk around the block again and some times another lap before bed.

Safety, trust & environment
In my home, my kids take on some of the responsibility of feeding and playing with the dogs because the money we earn on Rover goes directly into our vacation fund. As a family we take the dogs on walks around the block at least twice a day. Some days we are able to head to the horse farm to run around in the indoor arena or on the trails in the woods. Pups that have a good recall can successfully go off leash during this time, otherwise they will be on a long leash so they can get a lot of energy out.

Information Penny W. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors that I should be aware of. One customer asked that I not leave socks lying around because they found out their dog liked to eat them when one came out the back end. I thought this was valuable info to know!
A typical day
During the warmer weather I like to take dogs on one of the many hiking trails we have around us. Another fun place to go is the horse farm. If your dog is a good listener then we can go off leash around the farm but if smells are too strong for their ears to work then we can throw a ball in the indoor arena.

Former zookeeper with a BS degree
Pet care experience
I have cared for and loved animals all my life. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from UW-River Falls and have worked as a zookeeper at 2 zoos. My last dog Molly was actually part of the closing on my house. She was the least maintenance dog I have ever had. Unfortunately, her old age caught up with her recently and she is no longer with us. After some time I will be on the lookout for another dog, but for now I enjoy babysitting the wide variety of dogs I get from Rover. I do have a rabbit that lives outside and a horse that lives at a local farm. Let me know if I can help your family while you go on vacation or are visiting the Northwoods.
Reviews
Penny was wonderful and took very good care of our two cats while we were gone. She is a great communicator and was excited when our little one finally came out to greet her on day 3. We got pictures and updates each day, and Penny even drove through a pretty terrible blizzard to make sure our girls were taken care of. We appreciate her and hope to work with her again.
Ms. Penny was the sweetest! She was fantastic with our cat, Koda. She was attentive, kind, and showed our Koda nothing but love while we were out of town. Wonderful help!

We are new to Rover, and we’re at an Airbnb in a town. We were not familiar with. Our dog that has severe separation anxiety needed a sitter to come to the house, and Penny had excellent credentials. We were not disappointed, she was so loving, timely, professional, and trustworthy! We couldn’t have had a better first experience and are so grateful for her wonderful care with our dog Sonny. She and her great care allowed us to go out for dinner and enjoy ourselves without worry! Penny was a lifesaver, and we would definitely encourage anyone that needs a loving Pet Sitter to use her! Thank you, Penny!!!

Penny was great She always sent me pictures of what was happening and I felt comfortable leaving them with her
