Availability

I currently work three 12-hour shifts each week at Lakeland Regional Health, and while those workdays rotate weekly, I still have consistent availability. I also attend school two days a week for just a few hours, which means I have plenty of flexibility to offer pet care services. Because my work schedule changes weekly, I’m able to plan pet sitting, walks, and drop-ins around your pet’s specific needs. Whether it’s early morning routines, evening check-ins, or full-day companionship, I do my best to be available when it matters most. On my days off, I dedicate uninterrupted time to giving pets the attention, structure, and love they deserve.

Safety, trust & environment

Creating a safe and comfortable environment is my top priority—whether your pet is in my home or I’m caring for them in yours. In my home, I use secure kennels to provide pets with a cozy, structured space, especially during rest periods or overnight stays. For transport, I have two large, crash-tested Ruffland kennels in my vehicle to ensure every ride is as safe as possible. When caring for pets in their own home, I take every effort to follow your instructions to the letter. I believe consistency is key, so I maintain your pet’s routine—from feeding times and walks to their favorite toys or sleeping spots. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness always come first.

Information Payton W. would like to know about your pet

Before I care for your pet, I like to get a full picture of who they are and what makes them tick. That includes learning about their routine, favorite activities, and any quirks or sensitivities they might have. I ask about: - Feeding schedule and dietary restrictions - Medical needs (medications, allergies, past injuries) - Behavioral traits—are they nervous, reactive, or shy? - Training history and what commands they know - Crate habits, leash manners, and tolerance of grooming - Triggers to avoid (e.g., other dogs, loud noises, strangers) I want to match your pet’s rhythm and make transitions as stress-free as possible. The more I know upfront, the more I can tailor my care to meet their unique needs and give you peace of mind while you’re away.

A typical day

A typical day with me is tailored to your dog’s needs, but you can always count on it being active, safe, and full of enrichment. We might start the day with a structured walk or obedience refresher to engage their mind and body. If I’m caring for them in my home, they’ll have designated rest periods in a kennel to recharge between play sessions and one-on-one time with me. For high-energy dogs, I love incorporating scent games, puzzle toys, or light agility work (in safe environments). I also enjoy adding training refreshers throughout the day—whether it's reinforcing recall, practicing place work, or just brushing up on polite leash manners. Senior pups and less active dogs get gentle movement, plenty of affection, and a calm, cozy atmosphere to relax in. And no matter the age or temperament, every pet in my care gets attention, structure, and affection based on what makes them feel secure and happy.

Certified Dog Trainer & Vet Tech

Pet care experience

Hi! I’m a certified canine trainer with experience ranging from basic obedience to working dogs trained in scent detection, tracking, and behavior modification. I’m comfortable with all breeds, including reactive or aggressive dogs, and always focus on safe, individualized care. I also have a background in veterinary medicine with hands-on experience administering medications, monitoring vitals, wound care, and post-operative support. Every pet in my care is treated as if they were my own. I work three 12-hour hospital shifts per week and am away from 6:30 AM–8:00 PM on workdays. My schedule is created about 6 weeks in advance, so if you book far enough ahead, I can often tailor my availability to best fit your pet’s needs. Otherwise, I’m a great fit for pets comfortable being alone during that time or with someone available to stop by once while I’m working. On my off days, I have much more flexibility and availability. I’d love to be a reliable, experienced caregiver for your pet.

Payton stayed with our dogs for 7 days and did a great job! She sent us pictures and updates every day, which we really appreciated while we were away. Our dogs looked so happy and comfortable the whole time, and it gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing they were being well cared for. We’re really glad we found Payton and would definitely book with her again!

Payton was excellent with our boys! Not only did she stay with them during a weekend away, but also did some training with our nine month old rambunctious labsky. Payton has great communication, took wonderful care of the boys and house, and shared photos and videos while we were away. Thanks, Payton!

Payton was wonderful. We left for a week and she took excellent care of both our boys. We got daily photos and updates. Came home to 2 happy dogs and a well maintained house. She even stripped the bed in the guest room she stayed in. I will definitely use her again.

Payton was great!! House was in excellent shape when we got home and our pup warmed up to her quickly (he’s anxious and takes a bit sometimes). Definitely will rebook!
