Certified Dog Trainer & Vet Tech

Hi there! My name is Payton, and if your pet could pick their own sitter, I’d like to think we’d be best friends. 😊 I’m a certified canine trainer with experience ranging from basic obedience all the way to working dogs trained in tracking, scent detection, and behavior modification. I’ve worked with puppies, seniors, high-energy dogs, shy dogs, and even the occasional spicy dog that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I also have a background in veterinary medicine, so I’m comfortable administering medications, monitoring pets recovering from procedures, and keeping a close eye on any special needs your pet may have. When your pet is in my care, they’re treated like family. I know how hard it can be to leave your pets behind, so I make it a point to send plenty of photos, updates, and little messages so you know exactly how they’re doing while you’re away. Whether your dog wants to play fetch, your cat wants someone to respect their personal space, or your pet just needs a reliable friend while you’re gone, I’d love to help. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members!

Safety, trust & environment

Creating a safe and comfortable environment is my top priority, whether your pet is in my home or I’m caring for them in yours. In my home, I use secure kennels to provide pets with a cozy, structured space, especially during rest periods or overnight stays. For transport, I have two large, crash-tested Ruffland kennels in my vehicle to ensure every ride is as safe as possible. When caring for pets in their own home, I take every effort to follow your instructions to the letter. I believe consistency is key, so I maintain your pet’s routine, from feeding times and walks to their favorite toys or sleeping spots. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness always come first.

Payton stayed with our dogs for 7 days and did a great job! She sent us pictures and updates every day, which we really appreciated while we were away. Our dogs looked so happy and comfortable the whole time, and it gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing they were being well cared for. We’re really glad we found Payton and would definitely book with her again!

Payton was excellent with our boys! Not only did she stay with them during a weekend away, but also did some training with our nine month old rambunctious labsky. Payton has great communication, took wonderful care of the boys and house, and shared photos and videos while we were away. Thanks, Payton!

Payton was wonderful. We left for a week and she took excellent care of both our boys. We got daily photos and updates. Came home to 2 happy dogs and a well maintained house. She even stripped the bed in the guest room she stayed in. I will definitely use her again.

Payton was great!! House was in excellent shape when we got home and our pup warmed up to her quickly (he’s anxious and takes a bit sometimes). Definitely will rebook!

Schedule

A little about my schedule: I work at a pediatric dental clinic during the week, but I have a long lunch break that allows me to return home and let pets out, provide potty breaks, playtime, cuddles, check-ins, and feedings throughout the day. Thursdays and Fridays are shorter workdays for me, and I’m off on weekends and most holidays.

Before I care for your pet, I like to get a full picture of who they are and what makes them tick. That includes learning about their routine, favorite activities, and any quirks or sensitivities they might have. I ask about: - Feeding schedule and dietary restrictions - Medical needs (medications, allergies, past injuries) - Behavioral traits—are they nervous, reactive, or shy? - Training history and what commands they know - Crate habits, leash manners, and tolerance of grooming - Triggers to avoid (other dogs, loud noises, strangers) I want to match your pet’s rhythm and make transitions as stress-free as possible. The more I know upfront, the more I can tailor my care to meet their unique needs and give you peace of mind while you’re away.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
