Pet care experience

Friendly Artist and Pet Whisperer

I’ve been a devoted cat owner since 1999, and love to make new fur friends! While I adore all cats, I have a special affinity for felines with medical needs. I am familiar with how to administer a variety of medications, as well as handling special diets. I am happy to water indoor plants (outdoor plants/garden/yard not included in my rate), clean litter boxes, maintain other pet spaces, and take out the trash! I am an excellent communicator—part of my service is to keep you regularly updated on how your pets are doing in my care with texts and pictures. Dog-sitting/walking: It’s been a series of wonderful experiences to take care of so many different breeds, ages, and temperaments of doggies in Seattle! My calm demeanor tends to have a positive effect on even the most high spirited of pups! I take safety seriously: I always make a point to not listen to headphones while walking, so that I can effectively assess the environment and watch out for any triggers a particular dog may have I would love to first meet your wonderful pup companion to see if we are a good fit. From there, I am happy to learn about your dog and take them for neighborhood walks! However, I am also comfortable meeting dogs one-on-one! I know that life can get crazy and time does not always allow for an in-person meet and greet. I have a lot of experience with senior cats, as well as administering meds to cats with medical conditions. My experience includes: pilling, giving insulin to diabetic cats, recognizing the warning signs of asthmatic attacks, asthma inhalers, providing subcutaneous fluids, as well as applying topical medications. I am comfortable providing this service to dogs, too.

Safety, trust & environment

As of now, I only offer pet care at clients’ homes. I am patient and comfortable with learning strict routines, as well as looser forms of care. I believe each animal has different needs, so I’m happy to discuss personalized care plans before my first visit.

Paula has been taking care of our elderly cat when we travel for a couple of years now, she’s our preferred sitter. She’s communicative, has experience giving meds, and truly loves our pets. We are lucky she lives nearby!

Paula is wonderful! She is personable, nice, sweet, funny, and does exceptionally well with Zucchini; she and Zucchini became fast friends over a game of fetch. Paula is quick and communicative, responsive, and very thorough in her messages, and never left me hanging. I will be using Paula's services in the future and would definitely recommend Paula for anyone looking for a compassionate pet sitter.

Paula was so amazing with our girl Mizu. Mizu canbe hesitant with strangers but warmed up to Paula quickly and became super excited for their daily walks together. We use a gentle lead for Mizu bc she is a big puller as well, and Paula was already familiar with them. She was super communicative and accommodating, so I highly recommend her!

Paula was a great pet sitter for our border collie when we left town for a weekend. She sent us cute photos of our pup and when we retuned home, our dog was in great spirits. Paula also left our house clean which we appreciated!

Schedule

I am a studio artist and do full time pet-care. This means my schedule is very flexible! I am able to balance a morning and night routine with pets for when I housesit, and also have room for about 4-6 hours of dog-walks and drop-ins during the afternoon. I will have lots of time and emotional energy to play with your furbabies! I am actively looking to meet new dog friends to take on 30 or 60 minute walks! So far I have a few regular dogs I walk each week, and would love to add more sweethearts to my roster. I am open to the occasional walk with your pup or to develop a deeper connection through regular neighborhood walks.

Let me know about the personality of your dog. Do they have separation anxiety? What can I do best to make them comfortable? Do they have any medical conditions I need to be aware of? Many of my regular clients are hyper-reactive and so a wild pup doesn’t scare me off! Dogs are always doing their best with the skills they have, and I provide them with a calm environment in which to be their true sweet selves. I would love to learn from you about what makes your doggie special.
