Pet care experience

Experienced WFH Dog Owner: Queens

Experienced and dedicated dog walker and sitter (and currently studying to be a professional dog trainer), I specialize in caring for all breeds but have a special passion for working breeds and mixes. With a deep understanding of their needs, energy levels, and unique personalities, I ensure they get the physical activity and mental stimulation they thrive on. Whether it's an adventurous hike, a game of fetch, or personalized care while you're away, I’m committed to keeping tails wagging and paws happy. My last dog passed 18months ago, and don't currently have any pets. In the past, I've had a Malinois-mix, Labrador, Aussie Cattle Dog, and 3 Pembrokeshire Corgis, and have good experience with senior/ special needs dogs. One of my corgis had degenerative myelopathy (doggy ALS) and lived with this spinal disease for 2 years, needing a doggy wheelchair for the last 2 years of her life. Another Corgi had deformed growth plates on her front paws, which needed additional patience and care. I'm patient and gentle with dogs, as well as being highly aware of my energy around them. When your dog is in my care, they will get quality interactions throughout the day.

Paul took incredible care of my dog for 3 nights. He is deeply knowledgeable about dogs and handled my big shelter-adopted dog so well. I could tell right away that he was different from other dog sitters I had contacted before. Paul gave my dog loving care, plenty of awesome playtime, and also shared really valuable tips with us. I was a little nervous since this was our first time using Rover, or any individual dog sitting service in general, especially after a few uncomfortable experiences at local dog daycare centers. But our experience with Paul was absolutely amazing. Thank you again! Juneau will be back soon :)

Paul is a true dog whisperer! The level of care, attention to detail of my Lupita’s needs and preferences, and the respect and affection for her were unmatched. Thank you for making Lupita’s first dog sitting experience remarkable and fun! She misses you.

Okay still not unpacked but I’ll try and use this small box to put Paul in a box (never). Yes I read the reviews but more than that I read into reviews …We believe and agree with the reviews about Paul’s great care for our furry family /friends. Specially, Paul accepted the last minute care of Jessy Jane without asking me dozens of questions about her care.. My experience iis that Paul understands the peculiarities of dogs. He confirmed and reviewed what I had already indicated in our profile. Jessy Jane had a fabulous vacation from our normal day to day. She’s a picky eater and Paul worked to help us all🙂! Cannot say enough kind words about Paul. I recommend that you book a personal face to face interview with him ASAP!

Paul was incredible. Has a true interest in taking care of dogs and training them. Not sure I’ve ever felt my boy was in better hands while traveling. Can’t recommend enough :)

Safety, trust & environment

Although I don’t have a garden, I make sure dogs in my care are happy, stimulated, and well-exercised. With a playground and dog run (Skillman/ 43rd) just outside, I have quick access to a safe space for playtime and walks. When walking dogs, I like to spot and deal with (avoid) problems long before they're in front of me. I also focus on providing plenty of mental stimulation through interactive toys, games, and training activities to keep their minds active. Inside my home, I create a cozy and comfortable environment where dogs can relax and feel at ease after their outdoor adventures. I also have a lot of medical experience with dogs (both sickness and disability), should your dog need additional (or around the clock) care. My vet will confirm, if you need a reference for peace of mind. I am very safety-conscious and never leave dogs unattended or do off-leash walks. Dog runs are only used with owner's prior approval.

A typical day

As a dog-sitter, I love keeping dogs happy, active, and entertained! Depending on the dog’s energy level and preferences, I enjoy activities like: Outdoor Adventures: Long walks, jogs, or hikes to explore new scents and get plenty of exercise. Playtime: Games of fetch, tug-of-war, and interactive play with favorite toys. Mental Stimulation: Puzzle toys, treat-hiding games, and basic training refreshers to keep their minds sharp. Relaxation Time: Smushes, belly rubs, and calm time for dogs who enjoy relaxing together. Every dog is unique, so I tailor activities to their needs, ensuring they stay happy, healthy, and loved while in my care."
