Safety, trust & environment
When providing check-in services or walks for pet dogs in my client's home, I ensure that I offer a thorough and attentive level of care. With Check-In Services I first greet the dog warmly to establish trust and comfort. As I do this I become aware of the dog’s demeanor and environment to ensure everything is as it should be. Next, I perform a brief health check, looking for signs of discomfort or any unusual behavior. This includes checking their eyes, ears, and general posture. After I check that the dog has fresh water. If it’s time for a meal or snack, I prepare and serve the food as per the owner's instructions to ensure the dog eats properly. After I take the dog outside for a potty break and play time/exercise, observing their routine and making sure they relieve themselves. This could also include or be substituted depending on the owner’s wishes with a short play session with their favorite toys or activities to provide mental and physical stimulation. This could then be followed up with any grooming needs, such as brushing their coat or wiping their paws, especially if they’ve been outside. The. I would clean up any messes, ensuring the dog’s living space remains tidy and hygienic. As I do this I would send quick updates to the owner, including photos and a summary of the visit, to keep them informed and reassured. Additionally if needed, making notes of any observations or actions needed for the next visit would be taken. Walk Routine: Post-Walk Care: I ensure the dog is securely leashed with any necessary gear (harness, reflective gear if it's dark, etc.). I perform a quick safety check of the dog’s collar, leash, and tags to make sure everything is secure. Hydration: After the walk, I ensure the dog has access to fresh water. Cool Down: I help the dog cool down, checking for any signs of overheating or discomfort, especially in hot weather. Clean-Up: I wipe the dog’s paws and check for any dirt or debris to keep their environment clean. Final Checks and Updates: Final Health Check: Before leaving, I do a quick final health check to ensure the dog is in good condition. Owner Communication: I update the owner with details about the walk, including duration, behavior, and any notable observations.
Information Paul-Jose W. would like to know about your pet
I adapt quickly to specific things owners want me to know about their pet before caring for them. What I prefer I face timing or meeting the owner before hand with the pet to ensure how they specifically would want me to care for their pet. Please let me know if your dog or cat has any special needs or behaviors that I can account for so I can ensure that you and your family member has the best experience possible.
A typical day
I enjoy having play time interactions with the pets that I take care of which includes experiences with dogs, cats, small mammals, fish, and lizards. Besides handling, play time will include performing tricks to help with mental stimulation as well as feeding them high nutritious food.

My extensive self-taught knowledge in dog pet care combined with a genuine passion to have a goal in providing top-notch care for dogs of all ages has been my mission. One example of my works with one of the dogs I have featured in my profile is being able to teach her tricks like recall, shaking with both hands, heel walk, and obedience listening when she was 12 years old. No one has been able to teach her the things I taught her. While I may not have owned a dog myself, I have dedicated hours to studying canine behavior, health, and training techniques to ensure I can offer the best care possible.

Reviews

Thank you for looking after Larla so well again.

Paul-Jose arrived on time. He handled Larla well and did what I specifically asked for her. He was communicative, letting me know when he was on his way. He has helped several times with Larla and I have every confidence in him to look after my precious pooch well.

PJ was very communicative about Larla's care

Larla enjoyed her time with Paul-Jose. He followed my requests for the visit exactly.
