Pet care experience
Global Heart, Local Care
Pets have been my life ever since I was five years old. I wasn't a caretaker at that age, but I've fostered a close connection and understanding towards pets ever since. As I got older, my responsibilities grew in kind, and I became much more involved in the day-to-day care of dogs and cats. I've been fortunate to be a part of six dogs lives, and each have brought different temperaments, attitudes, and energy levels. Four of the six were rescues, so I understand the patience and attentiveness needed to properly address their needs and quirks. I also helped raise a 10 week old puppy into adulthood, so I am very familiar with what it takes to handle the stubbornness and energy of a young pup. While it's been some time since my cat has passed away, I likewise share a similar understanding to their needs and socialization. It requires a different approach than a dog but I am happy to adapt to the pet at hand and ensure they receive the best care possible.
Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
I will ensure that the pets' needs are addressed in full with the client before I take on the service, and adhere to the directions advised. I cannot currently board pets at my home, but I am happy to check in on pets whilst abiding by the rules of my client's homes.
Ratings and reviews
Paul took care of my dog for two weeks while I was away. All primary care requirements were met and carried out in a compassionate manner. Paul has a very gentle approach to pets under his care, and I would not hesitate to use his services again when the need arises.
Paul G. dog sat for my two “boys” (yellow lab/golden retriever mix) from the same litter in my home. I was a terribly nervous pet parent, always worried about whether they were safe and healthy. I trusted Paul and I felt very confident with him in my home. He’s a dog lover and diligent about what I asked of him: feed times, medicine, time outdoors, etc. My boys were happy to have him there and so was I. I recommend Paul as a loving dog walker and dog sitter. Oh, he loves cats, too!
Paul has been invaluable as a caregiver for my dogs over the years. Whether it is taking my dogs on daily walks or staying overnight with them when I'm out of town, I know that they are in good hands. He has experience walking my reactive rescue pup as well as playing with my other dog through the teething puppy years. I would highly recommend Paul to help exercise and care for your pups.
Recently, we used Paul to watch our two cats while on vacation. He is such an animal lover and he took such great care of Roo and Panther while we were gone. He's also a great communicator! I trust him completely. Even when we had a pet chameleon and praying mantis we knew Paul would be able to manage the food (that can be extremely tricky). He's very responsible too. Nothing but great things to say about his care!
Paul has cared for my dog, Mila, many times through overnight pet sitting, daytime check-ins, walks, and active play. He is incredibly patient, caring, dependable, and attentive to her needs. Mila has her own routine and specific care instructions, and Paul always follows them closely and makes sure she is comfortable, active, and happy while I am away. What gives me the most confidence in Paul is his consistency and reliability. He communicates clearly, keeps me updated, and treats Mila as if she were his own dog. I never have to worry when she is in his care because I know he is responsible, observant, and genuinely enjoys spending time with animals. Mila is always happy and well cared for when I return. I trust Paul completely and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a safe, loving, and reliable pet sitter or dog walker. He is an excellent person, a great communicator, and someone pet parents can feel completely comfortable welcoming into their home and trusting with their pets.

Schedule
I have returned from a term of service abroad in the Peace Corps, and am currently searching for employment as I settle back in the states. I will be living in Washington for the time being before I set off to grad school. As such, my schedule is fairly open for dog walking and check-ins. Some of my fondest memories abroad was walking around the countryside in my spare time, so I'm excited to continue that here with some new friends!
