My dogs look at me like I’m bacon

We have a Bernese mountain dog (Leia, born 2017) who used to have tons of energy but she’s pretty lazy in her old age now. We had two other dogs but they both passed from cancer in 2025, so Leia would love to have some company from time to time. Our daughter Kenzie is a senior at Harrison High School and she is available to watch dogs as well.

Paul and his family were very easy to work with and took great care of my dog for a couple days. My dog came back happy and tired, and I would not hesitate to use them again for other trips.

Paul and his family were great with my dogs and very accommodating. They are great people with good hearts. I would highly recommend having them take care of your pets.

Paul and family did great watching our dog. He sent pictures and video showing our dog playing with his family and dogs. Kept us well informed and great communication. Would def recommend and use them again.

Paul did a great job with my very energetic 8month old golden retriever! He was patient with him, walked him, and he sent me pictures and updates throughout the time I was gone. Tucker came back very tired and looked happy when I picked him up :) he got along great with his other dogs! I will definitely be using Paul again next time I have to go out of town. Thank you!!

Paul and his family were great! We felt very comfortable leaving Jack with them. Jack seemed happy and relaxed when we returned. We will definitely use Paul as our future Rover!

My puppy had a great time and came home exhausted. Paul and his family took care of him on my day of unavailability. He also helped me with pickup and drop.

Schedule

I work in a remote/hybrid role at Purdue so I spend a lot of time at home but do not always work from home. For house sitting requests, I’m happy to stop by 3 times a day to care for your pets, but prefer to sleep at home in my own bed for overnights. We will not do overnight boarding without a meet and greet first, so some lead time helps make sure that happens with enough time for you to rebook if it’s not a good fit.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives on a farm/ranch
Has an unfenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
Children 0-5 years old
Dogs not allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 8+ hours

Safety, trust & environment

We can easily separate dogs if needed. We have a medium/large crate if you do not have your own, but only have that one crate right now since we got rid of extra crates after Indy and Azalea passed.

Pets

A typical day

We can go on regular walks, or I can give the dogs toys to play with, or they can sleep all day long if they want - whatever they need.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only
Takes only 1 client at a time
Paul can host up to 1 pet per night
I can work with any well-behaved dog. A quick meet and greet with my dog is a good way to get them comfortable with one another. We typically introduce any new dogs to our own one at a time to minimize the potential for conflict, and we let them get comfortable with one another before we let them loose to play.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
