Dog Boarding, Walks, and Love - WFH

What sets me apart is my extensive experience, flexibility, and genuine love for dogs, which even inspired two friends to become dog lovers and get pets of their own! I work from home, allowing me to provide consistent attention and customized care. With a fenced dog park at my place and easy access to Shirlington Dog Park, I ensure every dog has a safe and engaging environment for play and exercise. Over the years, I’ve been a reliable and loving dog sitter for many friends, caring for their pets from a few hours to week-long stays. I’ve had the pleasure of caring for a variety of dogs, including my black and tan coonhound, an elderly greyhound, an energetic golden retriever, Pitbull Boxer and a big, bold Shar Pei-Rottweiler mix. My approach is shaped by my experience rehabilitating a once out-of-control rescue dog, who, with patience and love, became a wonderful companion and backpacking partner. Whether it’s managing high-energy dogs or providing a gentle hand to senior pets, I create a nurturing and fun environment where every dog feels truly at home.

Paul was fantastic with our dog, Theia. He really knows dogs and understands them. Theia is a high energy pointer. a rescue weary of people, that loves social interactions with other dogs. He let her warm up to him at her pace and did not try to force the relationship. He posted photos and let us know how she was doing. By day3 she was going under his desk while he was working and by day 4 she was going between his legs and letting him pet her a little. He praised her and let her interact with his 11 week old kitten, which she’s never done before. We would have Paul care for Theia anytime.

I really appreciate Paul coming through for Hufflepuff!! He always makes sure he has a great walk and water before he leaves! I also appreciate that Paul knows how to handle Hufflepuff's reactivity.

As an entrepreneur who works from home, I have the flexibility to build my schedule around pet care, ensuring your dog’s needs are a top priority. I’m highly responsible and reliable, with the ability to give your pet plenty of attention throughout the day. My home includes a fenced dog park, providing a secure area for playtime, and I also live near Shirlington Dog Park, perfect for extended outings and socialization with other dogs. I enjoy hiking and being active for dogs that might need more exercise. I’m dedicated to creating a safe, enjoyable environment, so you can feel confident that your dog is in great hands while you’re away.

Safety, trust & environment

In my home, I ensure that each pet feels comfortable, safe, and engaged. I provide plenty of playtime and exercise, including visits to the fenced dog park at my place and longer outings at nearby Shirlington Dog Park. I follow each pet’s specific routine as closely as possible, from feeding schedules to any special care instructions. When caring for pets in clients’ homes, I prioritize maintaining the pet’s usual environment and routine, helping them feel secure while their owners are away. I’m attentive to every detail, keeping the space clean, following any house rules, and providing consistent updates so owners can feel reassured. My goal in both settings is to offer a reliable, caring experience that pets enjoy and owners trust.

Pets

A typical day

When caring for dogs, I make sure each experience is tailored to their needs and energy levels. For smaller or lower-energy dogs, I provide shorter walks and relaxed visits to the fenced dog park, where I’m happy to toss a ball, offer treats, and ensure they have a fun, engaging time. For more active dogs, I offer longer walks, playtime at my onsite dog park, and trips to Shirlington Dog Park for socializing with other dogs. I also enjoy taking well-behaved dogs with me to a local coffee shop for a change of scenery. For those who love adventure, I’ll take them hiking on local trails. My approach is always flexible, creating a safe and enjoyable experience so each dog feels comfortable and cared for.
