Responsible & Experienced

Cared for various pets since childhood! Neighborhood dog-walker, and dog and cat sitter. Reliable, responsible, and experienced graduate student with a passion for helping others! Obtained my Bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Spanish from Texas A&M University. Currently attending Ben & Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy at UT Tyler to obtain my Doctorate in Pharmacy. Currently up to date on experience administering vaccines and able to administer medications as needed. Gained hands-on experience shadowing veterinarians and performing vet tech and kennel tech duties while in high school and while in undergraduate studies. Volunteered at animal shelters, wildlife center at TAMU, and humane societies. Animals I’ve worked with: small animals (cats, dogs), large animals (horses, sheep, goats, pigs), exotic animals (camels, deer, exotic cats, lemurs, ostriches, capybaras, birds, emu, tortoises), and fish.

Patti took great care of our kitty Lychee! He needs medication every 12h and he’s pretty skittish. She was very patient chasing him to grab him and gently giving him his oral meds. She also got along super well with our other kitty Mochi who is very shy, she was even able to pet both of them. We’ll definitely book her again when we’re out of town to check on them or to give meds!!

Patti was amazing with our pups! We are in town for a wedding and she saved the day puppy sitting for us. They loved her.

12/10!!! Patti has been an absolute lifesaver for us! She goes above and beyond during her check-ins with our dogs, not only giving them their frozen enrichment toys but also taking the initiative to clean the toys and make sure their water bowl is always full, all without us even asking. She has been reliable, communicative, and genuinely loves our dogs. Her attention to detail gives us so much peace of mind!! We’re so grateful for her and couldn’t recommend Patti more!

Patti is absolutely amazing! I'm writing this review to show my appreciation for her dedication and consistency throughout the past few months. Otherwise, I want to keep her away from everyone else, so our dog Miso can have Patti all to herself. Joking aside, she is very prompt with her responses, and she is very detailed in her rover reports after the drop-in visits. Despite the requested service being only the "drop-in visits," she went out of her way to take our dog for a short walk, which we really appreciated. It's very clear that our dog is much calmer on the days that Patti stops by (Importance of walking your dog). For anyone who's looking for an excellent dog sitter, look no further (but please do walk away because we need her for our dog :P).

Home characteristics

Safety, trust & environment

As a diligent and trustworthy, educated graduate student, I’m organized and clean while caring for my client’s pet(s). You can count on me to be there for you and your furry friends! I am an honest, respectful, and responsible worker. If you have specific ways you care for your pet, I will follow it as directed. I always take pictures of your pet(s) and send to you for updates of course!

Pets

A typical day

I bring treats with me while walking dogs and work on certain tricks in between walking such as sit, shake, and lay down as appropriate. I take dogs for car rides if they like that (and get them an occasional “pup cup” treat from Starbucks or Dutch Bros with the owner’s permission of course)! Also, I will take dogs to parks for walks for stimulation and play in a different scene (with owner’s permission for car rides/travel/other scenery). I play with all pets with whatever their favorite toys are, such as fetch with pup(s) and chase-the-feather-on-a-stick with cat(s)!

Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only
Patti can host up to 1 pet per night
Some important information I need to know about a dog ahead of time includes: any allergies they may have, medications they may take, what times of day they usually eat and what kind of food and how much they eat, if they get along with other dogs and/or if the owner wants them to be around other dogs or not (important if taking them to a dog park for example), if they have a special leash/collar they use (example: harness for a dog), and if are up-to-date on their rabies vaccination/vet check-ups.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
